So we have had a heaps of light wind days lately so what gear do you get out on.
Conditions: cross off
Weight: 95-98kgs
Board: 120 Starboard Nuevo
Sail: severne S3 5.0
How do you like the New Nuevo 120?
My light wind gear is 92 Nuevo and a 5.3m blade.
I'm about the same weight as you at the moment.
My light wind wave gear is as follows:
Weight: 94 kg
Board: 2014 Quatro Cube 110 litre-only just got this board and haven't used it yet (but it is replacing all of my Exocets 84, 95 and 104)
Sail: Ezzy 2014 Elite 6.1 m2
Mast: Ezzy 430 RDM
Boom: 2014 Streamlined Josh Angulo full carbon wave 140-190 cm (lightest and best boom I have ever seen and used-just my opinion..)
The Nuevos look great.. Maybe I need a Nuevo 120 litre for the really light days...

Yea it's so epic. I only just got my 120 today and had the chance to get it out this avo.
I'm just so stoked with it. It just putts up wind so easy and turns so well on the wave. Very surfing style even thou it's 120ltrs it's feel very small on the wave. So stoked.

Have you been using it with the centre fin? That will help loads with getting upwind in light breeze.
I'm only 75 kg but had heaps of fun testing the 120s. They're good fun boards
On a serious note. Jason, is your drone fleet equipped with autopilot? How do keep taking aerial photos of yourself without a remote in your hand ??

Hey hoop yea been running the centre and it works great. You can track up wind easy and the extra board line help as well. I'm so stoked you guys thought about the little things with the 120. It's not just a scaled up 110 Nuevo. But it's keep all the feel of the 110 on the wave.
Very impressed with its float and ride capabilities for the bigger guy. It also airs just like the 110. Great board.
Might have to chase me down a 101 soon.

I have a micro chip inserted in my a$$ cheek and it follows me 
I do let other people fly it....Not that hard.
Along with a shot of tequila added to it, and a squeeze of lime for the fog.
What you have is a Baja Fog, the best "kit" for light winds.

64 wide 228 long uphauls easy - 87kg's (varies)
Nice float and sail properties
94L Chopper and 4.8m S1 Pro @ 70kg
Been on a 84L chopper to date, wishI had gone bigger earlier! So much more fun.

Pelos on the central coast. Great little cross off beachy in a NE. One of my fav places to sail.
Not that I do much wave sailing but... Light wind outfit, 99 Nude Chopper, 5.4 North Ice or 5.9 Kult.
PS- Pelican was one of my fav surfing spots back in my Central Coast days- sweet place in a nor-easter. You much have sailed Soldiers Point Wintortree? Surely an epic wave sailing spot over the summer months. Was certainly good fun for goofy footers like me.
Yea we sail soldier point when it's big. That a fun wave to. My fav is forester lefts in the NE. Can't get enough of that wave. Have you sailed there much phil. The central coast has some epic places to sail. There just ain't a lot of wind so 90% is float and ride but the waves are so good I don't even care.

Only started sailing after moving up to Mid North Coast, so never sailed anywhere down that way. Will check out Pelo in a few week when I'm down. Surfed all over Norah down to Avoca, so I know you have some terrific surfing (and seemingly wave sailing) options in the region. Half your luck.
I'm 80-82kg (yeah I know, not so big - bigdaz, old nickname)
and run the same board in everything from light to strong wind, 2013 100lt Starboard Quad - Russh, this was your old board I think - lovin it! and team it up with my 2013 Severne S1 5.7, makes for a pretty sweet combo. I think you can see 1 millisecond of me kit in Tommy's vid at Pelo's - Seriously Tom, I thought you were my personal cameraman, looks like it's all about you

Looks great hoop. Had my Nuevo out Gerroa yesterday. Board really flys. I'm amazed how well it rides and how small it feels on the wave. I didn't think I could do the aerials I've done on a board this size. So epic. The trailer fin works great. You should put them on the 110 as well. I could point up wind past everyone while floating around getting waves. So good and such a great addition.
Cheers, I've been playing around with a few different concepts of the stabiliser fins. Had some good results and some not so great.
They do seem to be a positive thing for light wind boards.

Congratulations. These kind of look like Bonzer fins but used in a kind of quad or reverse formation..... see what I mean as shown on the Bing surfboard below:
"Bing Bonzer...original 1973 round nose....Looks like a 73...in decent shape and looks like a real fun rider! Nice logo, really cool fins, and some extreme concaves. The Bonzer was designed and created by Malcolm and Duncan Campbell...they went to Bing Surfboards with their design in 1973. Mike Eaton, Bing's main shaper at the time, was shaping them and Malcolm was putting in the concaves...really progressive for its time..."
Were you inspired by these type of fin set ups ?
There are a lot of surfboard retro revivals of this concept... Interesting to see these now being taken up here in windsurfing......I remember something like this from Windtech in the early 90s......well done for the new slant on it.
Is Nude the only one doing these type of Bonzer tri and quads now?.. Is a trailer fin a Bonzer with less of a slant/angle ? It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the matter.
