Wavesailing Nationals are on

NSW WA wil be hosting the Wavesailing Nationals in 2011. The event is scheduled from February 19th - 26th with a roving venue based on conditions. Headquaters is Gerroa sailing the main beach or Shoalhaven heads if NE, or moving to Windang if southerly.

The Pros division will not be contested on the 19th to accomodate far interstate Pro's that need an extra travel day. There will be an opening night BBQ and a Presentation dinner organised for the last night. We plan to have a Event House so keep an eye out for accommodation options - there will be plenty of cheap floorspace for those on a budget.

All the legals and permissions are yet to be finalised but NSW WA will be getting on to this next week.

We are also sorting out the budget and will attempt to keep entry costs under control with an early bird registration discount.

There has been a real resurgence of interest in competing on the east coast so the plan is to have all divisions running including an Amateur Division to encourage developing competitors. Groms, Youth, Ladies, Pros, Masters and more senior divisions will also run.

Over 100 hours of volunteered time will probably be invested into putting on this event - many thanks to Terry North for passing on all his notes. Warren Holder will be Contest Director while NSW WA will organise the event.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there and hopefully some of the "where are they now" sailors will make it next year.

Yep - divisions will run if there is a 2 people entered. Nicko you will be Youth under 21 and there are already a couple of youths comming. Come down and get the experience.

If you can register and pay by February 1st, 2011 there should be a discount of around $30. We will post exact prices once we have calculated a break even cost.

Keen to see SA guys come up - heard there's some talent down there and you're only 17 hours drive away!
