Anyone keen for somewhere south of Sydney this weekend for a wave sail ?, big wind, rain and swell, would Windang be the best for the south coast spots on this forecast ?

If its too big for Windang, which it looks like it might be, some of the boys sail Callala in Jervis Bay, supposed to be pretty good by all accounts
wind I suspect but perhaps someone can confirm.
DunkO might be headed to Cronulla Point
/ Shark Island. Below are requirements.
Mast high waves - probably.
Strong wind - check.
Difficult launch - usually.
Return to shore on the beach? No, just
get washed in with the whitewater over
the rocks & still happy to go out!
There will be a few options but the tides are less than ideal. I suspect windang won't handle the size in which case it'll be either barrack point which can handle triple mast plus, cowries which is a death slab but super fun or shellharbour pool, that needs more east in the swell though really.
Further down the coast the wind will probably be too south for Callala, better in Sw although if there is enough swell there is a reef at huskisson which I've sailed mast high. Low tide incoming is best and just overhead to logo is the sweet spot.
If there's a lot of rain around the wind will most likely keep flicking sw which could make Callala an option too.
Feel free to drop me a message if you head down.
Sam
I have never seen a wave sailor at Callala Bay or Beach. If you like sailing on confused chop with swell up to shoulder high it's OK. I've only seen that reef break at Huskisson big once (assuming it's the one at the north end of the beach) with 3 or 4 surfers riding and a grand total of zero sailors.
We had that same forecast a week ago. Been a millpond ever since. its Laurie punishing us for the CT threads n stuff.... ![]()

They don't happen often but when they work they're pretty good waves. Just a case of being in the right place at the right time as unfortunately there aren't many sailors on the East coast happy sailing heavier waves over rocky reefs
Wow, thanks for all the replies, Friday looks the day at this stage, always hard to predict these intense lows close to the coast. Fingers crossed for waves and wind Saturday and Sunday. After being stuck in Canberra for 2 weeks I'm keen as mustard for some ocean time, and a new Quatro 92 to test out !!
Towoon bay ask steve myers. Kurnell groynes if swell gets in. Shark island rights ask Dunko. Baysurf cronulla. Peggys bulli ask Carl Doran.
There's spots everywhere if your keen enough. Wollongong north beach Bombie. Bellambi Bombies. Sandon point if you want to have a fight with the surfers
Looks like you guys scored yesterday, hopefully you get a couple more good days if it's not too affected by the rain.
It was a fun few days. Shellharbour pool and Cowries Thursday, nuking Callala Friday full power on a 4.0 and up to mast high then again today 4.6 and a more playful head to logo and better wind direction with the extra west in it.
Gonna sleep well tonight.
Wasn't all time but was fun full tilt sailing. there's so many spot, you've just got to be keen and have your finger on the pulse with conditions.
