Any one tried the 2011 Tabou 3S 96L as a light wind wave board ?????...have a 2011 Fanatic Freewave 105 T.E but find it a bit big ...any comments in regards to the wave sailing side of the board appreciated. Cheers.
i have one and its great !!! the footstraps are nice and comfortable. I have used up to an 8 metre sail on it but its starts getting uncomfortable.
I have used it in 25+ knots but found i lost alot of control in the air (jump and bump) because of the wind getting underneath it, I usually go down to a 85 litre
My light wind wave board is a Fanatic Fw95. This is much better size to me. It planes nearly as early and has a bigger wind range in waves. I use 6.0 down to 4.7 and it goes well in all these conditions. It does not tend to stick like the bigger sizes. I have had 105l boards in the past and they were good with sails bigger than 5.5 so were really sone sail board. With the 95 I just change boards now when it gets too be a hand full. Also when I get holes in the wind with say a 4.7 changing up puts you back in the zone.
The new pin tail model is an improvement to the swallow tail and you will be impressed.
I don't know the Tabou however I can't see why it would work.
Hope this helps.
