It’s a little over a week until the fourth event of the 2009-10 NSWWA series - the Severne, Starboard & Flying Objects sponsored Smack it Classic at Wanda (or for the euro's "Claquez-le Classique")! Wanda consistently proves to be the swell magnet of the NSWWA competition sites - giving every opportunity to smack it! The NSSWA members have been enjoying some legendary time on the water, with one week serving up a NE’r every day! The Corona Classic has also come and gone so the level of competition at this event is anticipated to be extremely
high.

Heat 3 at Gerroa was unbelievable with a good NE’r and 3-4ft waves - hopefully you didn’t give it a miss because of the forecast! Wanda is the perfect location for the majority of NSWWA members - past and present - so we hope to see record numbers of attendees!

The Severne, Starboard & Flying Objects sponsored competition will be based at Wanda - it is advised that you get there reasonably early as there is a large cycling event in Cronulla. The NSWWA BBQ and presentation for members and competitors will occur on Saturday evening (non members are welcome to join for a small fee). The BBQ location will be confirmed on Saturday but it will be in Cronulla.

If you don’t have access to the internet on Saturday morning please contact Tim Williams, President, on 0409 757 315.

See you on the water or at rego!

I am looking forward to a home break advantage! thanks for poster!
There is a few tricks to sailing Wanda but is more sideshore meaning more vertical smacks. The upper bank where we will be based seems to be getting a better wave than the lower bank near the flags. BBQ is always close by and there will be a great night just watching the scenery run by!

Wanda is sailable in most windsand so more than likely we will be there. If the wind is forecasted to a be a strong westerly and no waves we will be around at Kurnell.

See you there
Tim Williams
NSW WA President

PS good luck with the Demo day this weekend

Our President visited the offices of the NSWWA Design Team yesterday and gave them some of his "ideas" for which picture to use...

Please send me a version of the poster to make into Xmas cards. I'm sure I can get Officeworks to print them up on special gold laminated paper which can then be sent to all my friends!

Is there going to be some demo kit again - I've been a little out of the loop trying to finish work stuff before the holidays?

Just a mute point, but aren't we in the 2010-11 series?

Guys

We will have the Scout trailer down at Wanda this weekend for you to donate all your preloved gear to. Some please bring truck loads.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED INFO BELOW

Again thanks to all those of you who have already donated gear or lent us their gear.

For the rest of you, can you donate pre-loved windsurfing Gear for youth windsurfers?

Come on we all have unused kit lying around that is un-sellable. This is your chance to donate it to loads of youth getting into our awesome sport this Summer!

As some of you know, we have been running windsurfing lessons for 17 Venturer Scouts on Tuesdays 430-7pm on Botany Bay Sydney. These kids are rapidly advancing and we are keen to keep them enthused and equipped. Therefore, we are asking for you to search under your house or in the shed for any gear that you can donate? We need:
• Boards of any volume 50 to 250 litres!
• Any masts – skinny or wide. Plus odd mast tops/bottoms or snapped masts (we have successfully cut down and cobbled together to make short masts)
• Sails – any sails. We can even cut down the huge triangular sails as beginner sails!
• Bases, extensions, fins – however old and ugly – we’re versatile with this stuff!
• Harnesses etc
* Basically anything of a windsurfing nature (inlcuding old instruction videos!

Plus if you have a wide style type beginner board that you are willing to loan us for Summer then again we would love to be able to borrow that and you can just call me at any time to get it back if you need to use it.

Just bring the gear down to Wanda Wavesailing event 11/12 Dec 2010 or call me and I will collect it all up and give your gear a second lease of life, injecting new blood into our sport

thanks in anticipation

Update - the demo Starboard SUPs will be at the Wanda venue on Saturday so if you are looking at the forecast and not that excited - remember the mystery swell

Some of the best wavesailing ever at Wanda came through with storms hovering and an even worse forecast - those who were there remember the clean glassy waves that were ridden hard for 300 meters or more - best event that was not even judged

If there is no wind the SUPs will get us out having fun, so bring your board or try the latest from Starboard and be there at the far end of the long carpark past the heli pad
