Hi, I am heading to Geraldton for the Easter break. My 15 yr old daughter is in a tennis tournament.
It so happens there is an opportunity for me.... to go sailing (when windy...) and surfing in Geraldton when conditions suit....
If anyone has any experience or thoughts on sailing in Geraldton at this time of the year I would be delighted to hear from them.
Hoping to get my Almond Lumberjack (9'8"-traditional nose rider) working at Coronation in the mornings and possibly sail on the wave board (Exocet Original Wave 2 95 litre or USurf II 84 litre).. in the afternoon... any ideas on best spots in Gerro/Corro and wind conditions right now... I don't have a 4WD.....so easy access is best..I went to Coronation 10 years ago and seem to recall a 4WD isn't needed.
Also regarding surfing.. Coronation is it a longboard wave ? or is it more of a high performance wave? in which I will ditch the nose rider and bring the 7' 7S quad....Any thoughts on if it is too windy for surfing so again I would like to hear thoughts from anyone on that as well.......
Cheers and Thanks..
bring some big gear and a spare mast, if the forecast comes off and we score the wave period there's going to be some carnage! check out the GPA seaview, if it says 2-2.5m swell and 16secs its on at Corro and plenty of other places. Less than that Point Moore picks up the most swell until it closes out, then head waaaay off to the south for super mast+ bombies ![]()
