Another Sup rider using the paddle backwards. You see so many people doing it. It just doesn't feel right. Nice vid though
I surfed one eye last year, it's really a super heavy wave when it's crancking and the locals can be ugly. There are plenty of softer options a little upwind from here and there's a club mistral with plenty of good quality gear for hire right on the beach.

just got back from a trip to the big M
- met Rok - the dude in the clip - nice guy!
Depending on the swell direction it can be either sectioney and friendly - great for airs and square reos
or an absolute freight bomb -which means its run and gun
we saw both modes.
Scotty and Ben took it to bits - and made it look like lifter city
i scored a few sessions between shooting sessions but couldnt really get dialled in to the places rythm. You have to hit it between high and mid - low tide a no go - even on twins / quads.
its quite a confronting set up as its miles out with lots of water draining out through the reef passes - meaning a breakdown could be a real drama.
Surfed it and it was quite heavy - like the NW desert when it starts to throw and put its scary face on- crowds were nice and thin
unlike Gnaraloo where you dont tend to hit the reef - this place puts you on it almost every time. It moves relentlessly onto shallower reef.
Its definitely not a place for the feint of heart - The chargers are gonna love it though! Food was awesome , locals were super friendly - although we didnt bother trying to surf Tamarind bay.
Sailed WAAAAY out the back at Manawa - so far out but an easier lip to hit - but surely mega conseqeunces if you ping any gear.
