Hi!
Going on a holiday to Mauritius in July. Going to rent gear and I see that Ion Club are offering coaching. I was thinking this might be nice, if they are any good. Do you have any recommendations regarding this and are Ion the only rental place around?
Will be surfing Manawa, but One Eye on a calm day looks fun and fast!
Thanks

Good luck with one eye if you need to consider coaching. Stay safe bro.

I think everyone should consider coaching. Even many pros still have coaches, there's always something to improve on!

I don't have experience with their coaches. Maybe start with one session and take it from there.

Yes ION Club is the only rental place. Not allowed to take rental kit to One Eye.
I had a forward loop lesson with Matrix about 9 years ago but I think he's only doing beginner's now as hurt his back. Not sure about any other instructors

Yeah. Coaching improves one on any level
Will probably try a session. They know the wave and the spot. Will save me many hours on figuring out the spot

Yeah Ion is it, I found it crazy expensive or maybe I just don't earn enough.
Can't comment on the coaching.

ION were there also there a few years ago in 2016 but moved off the beach near the hotel which was knocked down and re constructed. Magic place to windsurf, not good enough for One eye but head out to Manawa, it's awesome.

This wee vid is from closer in but mainly 'cause I wanted to film my then fledgling son having a crack in waves. Unfortunately he's stopped wndsurfing now which is a shame. Scroll to 2:30 if you have a short attention span, gor windier as the holiday went on.

I was there in april. They would not let me use rental gear on Manawa. I`m super disappointed with this since they market themself like they have safety boat etc.

They are nice and pretty helpful and did let me rent by hour since the wind was pretty light.

Was there in July. Sailed all but one day of 2 weeks. Hired gear and sailed Manawa. Lessons seemed focussed more on beginners.

Yeah, but this vacation will be with my wife and kid. Just dont want to use many many hours on figuring out the wave :) so thought coaching would be nice to get to know the spot and also get some input on my sailing.
