Watched the Australian Surf Movie Festival event at shellharbour last night by Tim Bonython.
It was awesome and I was stoked to see polakow wavesailing at cloudbreak during the show. It's great that the surf community can appreciate our sport and accept it as a type of surfing.

Sure is.. many surfers also windsurf or did at one time or other e.g. Wayne Lynch, Nat Young, Bob McTavish, Gerry Lopez, Buzzy Kerbox, Laird Hamilton and Midget Farrelly... others still do..there is a close connection..
Also don't forget Dave Kalama (son of Ilima Kalama 1962 work champion surfer) and also Joey Cabell the 1960s surf legend...

Michael Petersen was on his way to a windsurfing comp at Noosa when he was arrested on the story bridge in Brisbane. That was the end of his surfing, but what a legacy.
RIP Michael- perhaps the most outstanding surfer ever ! I believe his brother Tommy Petersen was a windsurfer as well...
