Is there any regular racing for windsurfers on the bay? I would love to get something started if there isn't. Le Mans start from the beach, around a marker or two, how hard could it be to get started?? ;)
There's the marker out from Point Ormond that I often gybe around when launching from Dawson.
Anytime, anywhere! .. except today, I went off Avalon.. Really though, how many people would be keen for a regular thing?

When I was windsurfing way back in the early 90s, there used to be a regular race from point Ormond out around a shipping marker I think it was and then back. I always got smoked because my gear was crap. Was fun though.
Keen..... If their was a few people (5+) and where members of a club that was yachting Victoria approved ( you have that silver card) we could get a club like Black Rock or Sandringham run a start for us. Or start us with the I14's / Moths / Musto's. It would be W/L racing but still fun.
Looks like there might be a light 15-18kt SW on Sunday. Any suggestions for an upwind/downwind race on the East side of the Bay?
Back in the mid 90's they used to have races on Wednesday night at Elwood. I think RPS used to run it.
WV is trying to organise a stern chaser with The ZU and the Elwood Sailing club. Hopefully some news soon.
Great news all we had to do was agree on a location and start time, so
Free race series 2, Series 1 was held by SHQ to the beacon.
