As previously posted, the WT Committee agreed to hold the AGM at an alternate location to the Stanley weekend where it has been held over the past few years. The intent is to hold the AGM on Saturday the 21st March at the Sandy Bay Yacht Club (or surrounds) to coincide with the State WCAA LT Windsurfer (and other sailing class Titles). Most likely timing would be late afternoon (again to be confirmed when racing schedule announced). Personally, I would hope that this may encourage a broader participation from some of the new/returning windsurfers as well as the older crew from GPS/slalom/wave/foiling/longboard fraternity.

A further post will be posted soon to cover agenda and committee position nominations.
I would flag now that I will declare the President role open for nomination, as I do not feel that I have had the capacity to give the role the attention that it requires to be successful over the past twelve months or so. More thoughts to follow before the AGM.

Current Committee

Al Cook -Treasurer

Note there is also a function on Saturday night for windsurfers at a yet-to-be confirmed location. This will be catered and have a cost of about $20.

If anyone is around on the weekend and not sailing, we are asking for some shore volunteers to help out at SBSC iver the weekend. Some of the LT sailors have offered to help- but that will mean a smaller competing fleet (which is not ideal).

All good reasons to come along and get involved with the State Titles.

Clarence, I'm a volunteer for Saturday & looking forward to seeing how the sailing clubs run events. Also (for others) refer to Jo Chau's post referring to dinner afterwards. There may be beer involved, so I'm in!

As far as AGM goes, I'll be sending an email to members in the morning in relation to my input as President and other thoughts for the AGM. I hope that the AGM is supported by some of the Southern fraternity as this was the primary intent of holding the meeting in conjunction with the LT titles. Looking forward to next weekend and seeing youse all there.

Are any of SB Club boards available for use for a donation to SBSC? or does anyone have one to loan/ hire?

SBSC has some BIC boards similar to LT, but not "class legal" for State Titles for obvious reasons.

I can put the word out on WT facebook etc.

Given the current situation around Coronavirus, a decision has been made to delay the WT AGM to a later date (to be determined).
While the risk is arguably very low, there is a priority to maintain "social distancing" that would be difficult in meeting rooms etc.. as opposed to during the general proceedings of the day's sailing activities.

SBSC have decided to proceed with the State Titles for the LT Class at this point and I hope that it is well attended. I'll still be attending as a volunteer and hope to see you there (at a sociable distance ).

Cheers,
Mort

If an LT isn't available. I have a Gen. 2 Wally but no class compliant rig, If there's a rig available I'd be grateful for a loan or hire for the event.
Failing this is can the non class compliant gear sail in the R300 class?

UPDATE:

Windsurfer State Titles will be postponed.

Hopefully we can hold it later in the year.

Personally I wanted to say a big thanks to Jo Chau, SBSC and the volunteers who had done (or were prepared to do) all the work to make this happen. This is the biggest event on the windsurfing calendar- so hopefully we get it going later this season.

In the meantime, do what Robby says:
