Anyone down south who is looking to head up for this current band of wind, we in the north work for a living, but Thursday is SHOW DAY, and so we are keeping an eye on Thursday.
We are hoping that the "Three o'clock blow" sustains good conditions into the afternoon, but the low tide is late morning and an early start will be in order.
Some of the us 'northerners' think that Wednesday morning could be quite epic, so a sneaky morning session could be on.
9:30 am low tide, 30 knots westerly going towards 40+ knots WNW as the day goes on and 3+ m swell.
Brown arrows are finally back.
Well, Bell Buoy wasn't that epic after all ...
...just kidding
30-40+ knots of wind with up to mast high mess on the water. One hit wonders all over the place, but the hits were top of the chart kind ones.
None of my friends wanted to join, so I packed up after a couple of hours on the water and a few big swims to recover my gear.
Tide was coming in very quickly, so for tomorrow an early start (8:30am??) will be a good option.
Usually, you would get full sandblasting on a day like this, but Bell Buoy is once again a rather sand free zone ...
Less wind and more sun than anticipated I think, almost to the point where I was thinking of going for a sail myself......
not too many photo opportunities, but here' s what I got.
Inludes Mr Green hiding a Clark loop ( of the day), and Bob Marley doing a disappearing act,
Apologies for some of these not being in sequence
Green, Clark, Hamish and Luka.
It was a pretty reasonable day in the end, despite a slow start.
GoonDog managed to make it look a lot better than it was at the time, but after midday the wind sat around the mid 20's, and the water and waves smoothed out nicely. Four hours in all, and time on the water is usually time well spent.
Hey north crew how are those Jack Jumpers going, do they come down to the rocks on a low tide ? Never go bush in unknown territories or you may get bit, ha ha ,they rate at about 8 out of 10 on worlds worst pain category. Better than epic Carlton today, how was the show? Gee wizza and all ?![]()
Not that it's a big deal Goondog, it isn't Geoff being obscured it's me!
. Shame about my landing. One footed landings don't work that well. But Geoff did do some beauties!
Thanks for taking some photos. It was an interesting session. Conditions started slow but improved. Itching for another day soon yet conditions aren't favorable. ![]()
