Hey guys racing on tomorrow at Dorans for state titles. Breifing 10am. If anyone is traveling down and need more time let me know and we can have the briefing at 11am instead. Its going to be windy W/SW 20/25 knots. Kaleb and I were thinking of having GPS 5 instead of racing around bouys due to the windy and choppy cond. I personally would prefer this and think its a bit more fun and less pressure. Also we then wouldnt need Alans jetski and laying marks. Let me know if there are any objections to this format.
Cheers Steve

Hi Kazza. Yes we do. Its still a round of the state titles and is official. You have to sail at Dorans or which ever location we decide on at the briefing. Not sure if we can do some sort of handicap system. Might be too hard and too late at this stage but maybe something we can look into. Cheers.

Well done Kaleb and everyone else who sailed. Also well done Fergus on your first slalom event. Man that was hard work yesterday but good fun. I really like the GPS 5 concept. Think it should be seriously considered as our state racing format in the future. There are a lot of tactics involved, trying to decide on what category you need for max points
Great fun, lots of tactics. Well done to all who competed, especially Fergus for his first Slalom/GPS event and Kaleb who dominated in most categories.
Did I come second in the 5x10 and Steve 3rd?
Sorry Russ, thanks for picking that up.
I've done the results on total numbers and added the category results in for interest. If we used each category result to tally the total as we do in racing, we would also receive a discard for one category. This would put Steve, Russ and Dave on 10 points and still in equal placing on points. we would then refer to total numbers to create placings for those on equal points.
That's cool three old men are all equal
And we all still think we have got it
Steve did do a lot more sailing than Dave and I so he should come in second.
Thanks Kaleb
Well done fellow men. I feel all motivated for competition again, GPS5 is a fun non pressure comp, I like it.

Thanks Kaleb
But i thought Kaleb won

Where was King Will?
He was there on bump & jump gear.
and he rescued me from the hurricane that went through and kept blowing my gear downwind and I couldn't swim fast enough to catch it
Yep I was there Tim, was suffering from a cold though so just had a quick bump and jump session rather than competing and spending hours thrashing myself on the slalom gear. Just uploaded my results from that day, came last haha!
Well done everyone!
