Excellent...
There is a whole bunch of BIC Techo kids racing at Woollahra YA in Rose Bay every Wednesday now and this enthusiasm will really motivate them.
They are talking about racing every Saturday afternoon through winter, but not sure if that is official yet?..

I have been hearing about this NSW group, i'm really looking forward to racing with them soon! It would be great if they were planning on coming up to QLD for the nationals.. I don't suppose you know if they are?

Our goal as a team now is to head to QLD for the Midwinter Youth Nationals and hopefully claim a tassie podium lockout (as well as 4th, 5th, 6th etc ).

The Tasmanian team is looking pretty dangerous for sure, this year. But don't relax we have some future stars hot on your heels.

Well done to all sounds like it was a great regatta.

Cam, that makes me so happy to see! What are the chances of seeing those youngsters getting on a T293 for July? Even if its only one or two we might be looking at the biggest nationals in years and years, maybe ever.

We have a couple of kids that are showing some real potential, after literally 3 or 4 sessions they are planing and in the footstraps and harness but they currently have commitments to the opti class.

Quite a bit of talk among the dinghy sailors about techno at the moment with a constant flow coming to have a go every weekend. RQ is having a "classes" day in 3 weeks to showcase options for the kids coming out of opti's and help them make a choice about what class they want to move into next. Hoping we pick up a few new ones at that day.

Other kids we have are completely new to sailing, they are progressing well but not as fast as the dinghy sailors, I think they will start racing next season but wont be ready for the mid winter youths as its a steep learning curve when you have to learn about basic sailing principles and then learn windsurfing and then learn racing.

I think we will have at least one of these new kids enter and I might be able to get Jacob to enter to make up some numbers, his old board is in your fleet now but we can use one of the old club boards and just charter a sail.

Look forward to catching up and meeting the Tassy team in July.

Hi I live in Devonport i am 15 and Im 193 cm tall my weight is around 80kg. I am looking at getting more into windsurfing and the bic techno 293 looks like the way to go as I want a board that can be used in most conditions but I don't know if I should because I don't have $3000 for a new one and there are no second hand ones around. Could I please have some help in getting a board for around $1500 because that is all I have, and all I'm going to have for a while

You might find a Starboard Rio or JP funster with a rig second hand for less than $1500. With a larger fin the performance might be comparable but might be slightly slower upwind. The volume is very similar. Were you thinking of racing against other Bics or just for general racing and sailing?

Its all good, we've all over it! Found a second hand one in budget, see how we go. Im stoked at how this event has created interest for the class, thats two guys in tassie in two weeks and more interstate. Windsurfing is coming back in a big way ladies and gentleman, yiieeeew!

Well I really want a board which has state and national competitions like the techno but I also want to be able to race in my sailing club so I am looking more towards a techno than any other type of board

Sounds like it has to be a techno then. Keep a very close eye on Seabreeze s/hand and allow 100-250 freight from mainland.
Do they appear for 1500 complete Jock?
