- a lot of cash to spend and you'd get to use it 4 or five times a year around here in decent cross off down the line waves.

Maybe you could demo one and run it across fin rock at U's Gunna!!!

Hey gunna - your avatar - looks like a girl I went to school with - i didn't realise you knew her as well - she certainly looks older though

Russ, I think you should try a twinny. I've heard people saying they're only good in side shore conditions, if that's the case then I'd try another brand because my twinny rips in side shore and onshore slop... very loose and slashy on backhanders! I love it. I was originally going to keep my single fin for onshore conditions, but after about the second sail on my twin I decided I'd have no use for a single.

One day maybe - I am just happy with the boards I've got at the moment and don't really want to complicate things any more - its either enough for the 84 or I use the 104. Maybe when I replace the 84 it might be an option. But the main time I use it is 4.7 -4.2 adding a twinny would just add another choice and wonder whether the 30knt days will be out of control on the twinny.(not that there are many of those)

Dave how is yours in the sw'rs at seacliff the other week???

rush:my 84jp twin worked fine in onshore, put the fins right back and it tracked like single does, planed early and respectable speed, only noticeable diff was didnt squirt you so much off the bottom backhand turn but still acceptable as a allrounder. But in xshore ,it will make you salivate more, capiche?

Muzza, the brand i heard was the" night sky" brand
Hmm..2010 jp82 twin

Fin positions and foils are all super important with quads, currently haven't found them to have a better range then the twin fins for both on shore and X off.
So we will contiune to test both Quads and Tri fins against our twins here on Maui this winter.
Anybody coming up to Maui this winter is more the welcome to hang at our Peuwela Cannery factory anytime to see the 2010 board being built

Looks like RRD are going with a twin and a trifin for 2010. There's so much development in board design going on now it's awesome.
We've seen fine tuning of boards for so long it's not funny. No matter what 'your' brand is, you have to love seeing the development of the equipment across the board.
I reckon the current level of development in waveboard design is up there with the 'widestyle' boards and full headed sail developments of the mid and late '90s.
Singles, Twins, Tri-fins, Quads...and that's without any other alternative's which haven't surfaced yet.
It's a sensational era to be a wavesailor!

Do you honestly believe it's development or rehashing old designs for the sole purpose of marketing?

Ahh another doubter!
Here's my question to you. Have you ridden one Silly question, because it's obvious you haven't. I'm not sure of your windsurfing history, I know you've been around for a long (long)time, but not sure what sort of boards you've ridden in the past.
As for me, I've been riding wave boards since 'Greg Frost' boards were 'the' board to ride. I had a short wide tri-fin that was about 7'10" in the mid eighties. Then a Jump City trifin, then Windforce, etc, etc, etc
So I've seen and experienced all the changes and yes there have been wide and short boards with muliple fins in the past, but to compare them to what we're experiencing now is like comparing my mother-in-law to Amanda Kerr!
My advice to anyone who is under the impression that these boards are a marketing ploy is to try one and then make your judgement.
It's a pity I didn't keep my old boards, then we could put them side by side and kill off the 'rehash' idea permanently.
There's a demo twin in Glascraft, take it out anytime. You will be a convert...like everyone else who's tried them. I'm not being brand specific here, try any brand. You will love the new wave of boards.
Are you sure you're not bitter that the wave boards are getting all the attention and not the flat water gear?

Yeah you're right Muzza sick of these wave boards
I would like to know why anyone living in Adelaide would even think of owning a wave board? the only wave i've seen down there is when people are waving goodbye to each other
