so, after a false start on Saturday, the wind came in hard today.

at times i was very lit up on a 5.8. this was early-to-mid afternoon and you could still feel it building. it was almost dead north while i was there, but i suspect the swing to southerly would have ratcheted it up and taken it well out of the range of my quiver.

belter day...i hope y'all got a bit of the action. tell us about it...

I had a 10 knot northerly down here, totally skunked for the whole weekend.

Trousers a 5.8 sure ain't nuclear.

fair call, a bit dramatic - but for me it's a very rare day i find the 5.8 a handful

here in the city I heard people were getting rag-dolled on their fours (a poster reckons there were 40kt gusts!). inland it was less honky, but still plenty lively (I see the Bonney boys did well). i suspect i left before the really big stuff kicked in late afternoon post the sw'ly swing.

surprising to hear you didn't get it down sou-east! but to be fair, you often get better winds than us urban dwellers, so it was about time we got a break! on a weekend as well! w00t.

When it swung around to west I was getting backwind slamed on a 4m, was just dangerous off shore, gear breaking conditions[}:)] Gusting from 10-45k in the rain squalls made for exciting & challanging sailing. From not enought to water start to getting throne across the water in a ball of spray

According to the BOM - the heaviest squall at Outer Harbour just past 5pm was 49kts. If you could have held it down, you probably would have broken all sorts of records shortly before you burnt up on re-entry...
