guys, where and when? a sail before work would be just the tonic. is this possible during summer time? if not, is it possible at all?
Hi Chris,
Going for a morning sail in Summer isn't a problem. I've had some reasonable sails on the mid in the morning.
The conditions looked good on my way home from working in a pub a while back, so I loaded up the gear and hit the water right on sunrise, it was great.
I'd be keen to go for a sail before work... I don't get many sails in the usual hours anyway.
Where was you thinking?
Muzza
anywhere between north haven and marino! i live just south of semaphore and work in wingfield so north is better for me, but i am never bothered about driving a little for a sail. its just the time factor. i need to be at work by 830 really. what gear do you use for am sails? i take it by the wind conditions we have had lately that winter morning sails are out of the question.
chris.
Hi Chris,
It's not really the conditions, its the lack of daylight during winter.
As far as gear goes, you'll need to come in and buy a whole new kit for 'AM' sailing, the gear I sold you last season won't work at all in the morning! (Ha Ha).
You've got awesome gear, just use what you'd normally use for the conditions.
Muzza
never adverse to new gear!
on that note, i'm selling the trusty go if you know anyone who may be interested.
if you know it's going to be on for a morning sail, give me a shout. phone number on its way via PM. (not kevin rudd, don't reckon he sails adelaide beaches).
cheers, chris.
Hey Chris,
I got your message, thanks.
Sunrise is still around 7 - 7:15am at the moment. Not sure about you, but that's cutting it fine for me getting to work on time.
Give it another month and it might be on the cards.
Starboard Go's sell like hotcakes from around September onwards... you won't have any trouble selling that board. What board are you looking at upgrading to?
Muzza
yeah, mornings are a bit tight for me too. we have also been booked in for our baby to be born next thursday, so a month might be about right anyway. i think weekends and after work will be out the window for a while, hence the early morning approach!
as for the board, not sure, 105 - 115 ltr chop hopper i guess. got a naish comp wave, but not up to that level yet. i still have a 135l fanatic too, that will do for the time being. would be good if i can go straight from the bee to the naish, may be optemistic though. see how we go.
