i don't know what it was about the conditions yesterday, but boggy I was as good as i can ever recall. a true SW, admittedly a bit gusty at times, but for some reason the direction made the water really smooth. you could find pockets of chop, but for the most of it, four of us sailed some really flat water in around 6metre sails.

souwesters are pretty common for boggy so i hope its a sign of things to come. maybe it was the direction, or the amount of water, or the front-style wind, but what-ever it is - send more please!

Hmm, checking on Hindmarsh Island obs for yesterday, you seem to be right...maybe my compass is all wrong. And good to have another Boggy I disciple, look forward to sailing with you again Bigkym. Yesterday sure was prime gybing weather! If you've not seen it before, I heavilly recommend Guy Cribb's Intuition video for learning the planning gybe in minute detail.

I didn't put in half the session you did, but I got out of bed pretty slow this morn' that's fer sure! You are a machine! I should be all repaired by Saturday tho!

so, four years ago when i left the state, boggy had a weather station mounted at a property nearby which you could call and get a digitised readout of the wind speed/direction/trend etc. is this what you're talking about?

when i returned in january this year i was told that it has been long removed. it was run by a boggy regular (Simon?) who was an engineer - someone told me he has taken to wavesailling and taken his station with him

I have a vague recollection of Boggy weather station being moved to Milang 2 or 3 years ago, I even called it a few times in the past (when it was at Milang) to check the wind, I think it was the same one? I don't know if it's still there.

I didn't revisit this thread until just now. I wasn't aware that this weather station had been removed sometime ago.

Not being aware of this, I telephoned and listened to the digitised recording only one or two months ago. It gave wind direction / strength (8 knots) and some other stuff that I found difficult to hear. I got confused on some of the menus and accidentally recorded my intention to sail there.

A rang again a couple of hours later and as far as I can recall it provided a different reading - also informed me that one windsurfer had registered their intention to attend (obviously me) - all very bizarrre based on what people are stating.

Regardless, it's not working now!
