taking the week off work an thinking about heading over to beach port with my kids. has anyone been down to lake ,is the water depth ok and how weedy is it?
also are there any regular sails down there
Jimbobs the man to talk to - sure he'll update you and welcome someone to sail with. Reckon he might be getting worn out sailin seems to have been plenty wind down that way
yeah, last there in October and Lake George is plenty of water and safe sailing. Jimbob did say there is a bank or two of weeds and a shallow rocky area around the small island that lies SW of the spit, but the lake is massive, so it's easy to keep away from.
enjoy!
was out there sailing yesterday and the lake is FULL, water level is right up at the spit and 5 mile drift, probably a little bit more water than the oct long weekend, you can drive around the drift easily with no water to go through, looks like seabreezes again from thursday on, still don't need a weedy at the moment until the water drops later.
jack call me anytime as I am always up for a blast and will be there on holidays until the 10th Jan. ( jamie - 0400472092 )
