Out of action for a while. The angle grinder went right in the left forearm and severed the muscle. Luckily it did not get through any further! Now I know what real arm pump is!

Dave:

Way out west were the rain dont fall
Got 20 knots of wind and a great big swell

Details: 20-25knots Southerly which is not ideal direction due to strong sideshore current making it hard work to get up to the main peak. Swell was 3/4 to over Mast high out the back. Inside section up to about half mast and very punchy.

Cant say i smacked any mast high lips, was a bit fearful of the volume of water in them, the awkward wind angle, and lack of budget to replace broken gear but certainly had a few heart pumping moments on the wider peak. Also got in on the shoulder on a few bombs that were VERY thick and left me very humbled at the power of nature.

Was also out there on my own so did feel a bit lonely.

Inside section was more fun, managed to get some nice smacks, and also got smacked a few times.

Also scored heaps of fun surfs on both shortboard and SUP

Hopefully get back there again in Feb/March
