I just arrived in south australia a week ago! have already buy some windsurfing gear! But now I need to test it...
Could you give me some advices about the places to go today (around adelaide!).

Seacliff or Kingston Park might b OK if the wind goes more SW and there will be a few crew sailing if its any good and >15-20 knts - Days street would have been ok today with WNW - probably gone onshore by now and a 70km drive - with a small swell -
A dodge tide so Snapper and the likes may be a bit shallow (near Aldinga)
Mid coast was crappy onshore this morning and 15 knts (tried for an quick early one at 0800 and it was 3 planing runs and plodding around trying to catch onshore waves)
Check Windsurfing SA and the Onboard web site as they have info about where to sail
or you could save your energies and come down to Robe this weekend, 3 hour drive south towards Mt Gambier, looks like wind and waves this weekend.......
Hi Matt. What level are you ?. You have just brought some equipment ?
If you are rank beginner, then West Lakes is the best spot in the city,
although it's probably too windy for beginner sailing at WL's today as
gusts will be too difficult to deal with.

My level in windsurfing is good enough to play in the waves! hehe
And I 've just bought a JP wave 79l with a NP zone 5.0.
So, sounds like Seacliff (just south of Brighton???) or west lakes could be a good place for today!
By the way, what is this about "robe" this weekend?
In that case, forgot my suggestion about WL's. I thought you may be a beginner coz you mentioned buying equipment.
I am heading to Largs Bay this arv. The wind is a bad direction, but I don't want to drive too far. See you around :)

a weekend spot 380 Kms south east of adelaide via Kingston - Social wavesailing group has got together and organised a weekend away, if theres no wind some will be surfing, diving and now a catameran is coming as well.
20-30 knt WNW tomorrow - beachport (35ks south of Robe) should be good - Satuurday and sunday are a bit sketchy but a possibility of afternoon seabreeze and a SSE 15-20knt for Monday (Australia day) and with a couple of feet of swell - have a look in the photos - SA - a few pictures of Robe from last easter and October long weekend.
a floaty wave board and small wave board would be the go.
40 people booked for Tea on saturday night at the Caledonian Inn - should be a good night.

It sounds to be a great plan indeed! a bit far away but.... i'm ready to drive to catch up the waves.
Is it like a wave competition or simply a social event?
and also, is there anyone going to seacliff this afternoon?
Robe is an "social expression session " wave gathering. Robe has another event at easter time that attracts 100 or so sailors and kiters and is much more competative and attracts a few more of the "hard core" (for want of a better term) wave sailors.
Keep an eye on the SA forums
Seacliff is a no go for me today - Going to Robe - might drive past and have a look on the way home from work though.

Its all about timing. Had a few runs at Seacliff. Met Ty. Packed up and then it came in, had something else imp to do. Had to see my mum. By the time I got back to Moana it was howling westerly. I bet SOMEONE had a FANTASTIC sail. I dont know about the toxic dust/sand at Hindmarsh Island though. Here is a few pic from this morning at Moana.
Eyre Peninsula juts out 300km into to the Great Australian bight so if there is any wind and swell we can find on either side ,cross off condition in NW to E wind direction year round.
NW to SW in the winter are all sailable in waves
W to SE seabreeze in the summer again you can wave sail.
Our Seabreeze are stronger as we are closer to the hot Nullarbor plain.
I haven't been to the WA in 10 years as we have just as good condition here in West South Oz.
