What's the chance of a sail in the next few days ?
Just arrived back in SA and looking to get out on the water.
Any suggestions for possible sailing locations in the lead up to Christmas and the likelihood of wind and possibly waves ?
Graphs looking pretty dire.. and to rub salt in its all green arrows where I just left ![]()

possible sea breeze tomorrow. semaphore's not a bad spot late afternoon, mid coast for waves. but who knows, just be ready i suppose.
by the forecast Wednesday arvo at Middleton might be a nw'r with 2-3ft of swell - but the BOM are pretty good at getting it wrong. (nw-sw 15-25 knts on SCC in arvo) Swellnet and BOM are completely different forecast wind wise
Maybe a southerley at the mid or Kent reserve on Thursday arvo and some Se'rs over the weekend - Xmas day will probably be the best for the week.
Pretty hit and miss at this time of year down south - the seabreezes on the metro beaches but its flatsville - unless you like 1 ft chop at Semaphore - surf wise you gonna be lucky to get any cross off unless sellicks / mid fires with some swell or we get some nw'rs (unlikely for more than 1 -2 per summer).
Hope you brought your SUP!!!
Christmas Day sail could be a goer, we are down south for the weekend,
PS: I become very suspicious when the BOM forcast 10knot variants, such as 15-25 knots, means they are not really sure
Have the sup with me along with the light wind wave board! All gear is stillnon the roof of the car so I can hit the water in the drop of a hat... Or the rusteling of leaves ;)
I saw the nor west/nor Easter for Thursday which raised an eyebrow or two! Super keen to meet up with some of the south oz crew for a blast on the watergood to see so much water at goolwa... Last time I was here it was a tiny trickle.
Mght have to get out on the sup and paddle down to the bridge and back.
Will you guys be posting on here if the wind is on at your local spots ?
