The wind gods arent quite coming to the party so it looks like we will stay on hold this weekend - we've had a few discussions and planning to extend until we get decent waves and wind.

Will update everyone next week.

Hi all - we may try and run an expression session tomorrow morning at Day street - good swell and a forecast that may give a window of nw winds up to 25 knts going SW at some stage - we are waiting on final forecast - hopefully mid to late morning

we will announce tonight at the Severne Launch and posted on seabreeze and the facebook site.

Chris is arranging tent and BBQ and we should have some bread, snags, a few Coopers and hopefully a couple of volunteer judges to help pick a winner

Cheers

RH

This may be our last chance!!

After amuch deliberation we are going sailing tomorrow - we are getting some beers and sausages and hitting Day street late morning from 1030-11 on - beers and sausage sizzle when we have had enough sailing.

Not sure if we will have enough time to run a formal comp - if anything an expression session

It could go off or it could be crap = only time will tell. With the current forecast we will understand if you just hang at the mid and have a blast if it 20-25knts

Cheers to Ben and Pete for a great night at the Yacht club - awesome to see so many crew out having a chat about their sailing addiction.

Hopefully will See ya on the water tomorrow.

We didn't run a formal comp today but just had a sail (everyone just wanted to sail) and sausage sizzle with a few cold frothies to finish off the day. After a great night at the S&BYC (Cheers Ben and Pete and everyone that could make it) was a great insight into sail design and technology.

As far as today went:
Wind : 5-30 knts NNW – very offshore and super tricky on the inside – everyone managed to spend some time going through the Middleton rinse cycle.

Waves - 2-3 foot sets
Whales - several breaching out the back - Harrys slalom markers (sometimes they just appear out of no where)!!

Some big moves in sometimes ballistic conditions – Scotty Mac, Timmy, Dean, Maris, Pete Ross (despite the 0600 finish at the seedy end of Hindley st), Hale, Smithy, Ty, Ben and Karl were all going off with some big moves – I'm glad it wasn't a comp cause it would have been hard to pick a winner without a wave on wave final
Ben and Maris's Duet / party wave (or was it Rossi) looked good from the beach. Was impressive watching some of the moves (Shaka's, Goyters etc) Ben was going for and making in the tricky conditions
Ty's dismount in the close out was one of the more memorable crash and highlights.
Zac was not spotted on the water but could be seen sleeping on a near by balcony - a little hung over I hear.
Brett Zubby DAve Bullard Mike Craig (another huge marathon effort from the Victor local) myself and quite a few others (cant remember everyone that was there) all got some good waves and their share of floggings
All in all a great day – quote from one inter-stater “an hour sailing at Day street was as much effort as an afternoon at corros”
Thanks to Richard Upton, Bobby Hale for some water shots (hopefully we might see some soon) and Chris Hale (and the slow food sausages).

Lets do it again soon!!!!!

Results of contest was: Ocean 1, Dr Duck 0.
Been a while since I sailed in conditions that were so physically exhausting. Had a good first session where I got a couple of waves that will keep me coming back for more. Second session consisted almost entirely of me swimming my board around in the break - overpowered and underpowered at the same time. Yes, it does seem to be possible

Anyway, great way to back up the Severne Product Launch the night before - thanks to all involved.

P.S. Question for you Middleton regulars - NNW at Middleton would be more cross-shore at say Goolwa beach? Is that a doable option?

P.P.S. Ben, if you read this thread, that sail in my avatar was one of my homemade polytarp specials. That one worked good - others were truly awful!
