For those of you who sail boggy 2 - current warning signs. I sailed there today and am still alive
but seems we need to be careful. The only warning sign i needed today was DODGY WIND
.
There seems to be less and less foreshore at boggy 2 as each week goes by. The bigger hazard soon will be the wooden constructions. Good to see one was removed last week, thanks to all that went to the effort, just need to get that little table one out which is almost under the water now.
Legless,
We pulled one out last week but after i dragged the big one back to shore couldn't be bothered going for the second one. Will pull the other one out next time. Geoff and Chris sailed Milang on the weekend just headed out further down from the caravan park. Might be a spot to try while boggy is sorting itself out.
Guys
The project is planting native and cereal crops to try to reduce the hazard of acidification due to the extremely low water levels. The activity itself is not really a hazard to human health but they are using fertiliser. This may cause algal blooms in the water. If this does occur then a blue green algal bloom can cause skin, eye and ear irritation and possibly make you crook if you ingest too much. Can be quite hazardous to livestock.
If it does result in an algal bloom please PM me as we are trying to track what DEH are doing.
