Just curious, if I live in Seacliff, if it is worth the drive up to the Northhaven breakwater or Largs? Probably about an hour of driving, but I really really want to work on my gybes - for those of you who have sailed here a number of years....what do you think? Will it be noticably flatter? Or is seacliff ok, because the swell will just roll by?
Cheers
Maybe if there is any North in the wind, behind the breakwater will be very flat,
Secliff is perfect for learning, working on gybes, especially over the sand banks,
If its SW stay at seacliff
Its not really all that flat at "The Wall". For flat water and good wind, go to the Murray Mouth, on the Hindmarsh Island side (but not in Northerlies).
Looks like a chance that the mid will be OK - 2foot and cross shore again - hi tide at 10. The tide will swallow up most of the swell except for maybe Seaford reef or Freddies anyone keen on heading out to Christies reef if theres any wind?
Havent sailed there but the right at the southern end looks good on a high tide - would be a good blast heading out but a long swim back if ya break something.
I'm kken Russ, keep us posted if you think it's woth a look. Ty might be keen too we've been discussing trying a few new spots lately.
Saturday looks like N to NNE'ly around 15 knot range.
If so Boggy Lake will be super flat going out to main lake or even from the launch site to the East. If you fall off its not very deep...
Planning a trip down to Granites at this stage. Long way but best chance of decent swell and wind. The map looks NW although they are predicting Northerlies. Don't know why...
