Planning on Middleton. I can make it but the forecast keeps changing. Looks big with a maybe on the wind. Where was everyone on Sunday? Came in good mid afternoon and the surf was pumping all day...

I thought it would be too big and too onshore for the mid tomorrow...

Everyone (except me) was sailing Triggs and U turns around 1030 onwards - looked a bit up and down but fun.

NNW will be good as the swell is supposed to be 3ft around lunch. Swell net has got goolwa building to 6-8ft after lunch! Maybe closer to Victor might be the go.

Seaford and three poles are pretty good when it goes nnw and the wind gets into the bay - swell supposed to kick when the tide pushes in- and it sure beats driving the extra 55kms!!

I'd consider a sail at the mid first then go down - but I'm working and still sore in the rib dept..

That was insane today. Really really nucking futs. I went to the Wall with another regular I sail with. When I walked my stuff to the beach, it started blowing like I've never seen it blow before. Everybody (except for one kiter "giving it the berries" along the wall) was on the beach battening down their crap.

It went "okay" considering the conditions and still getting used to my new board. Planed, lost control a few times. Did a massive catapult. Fell off, Blobbed up and down out the back and contemplated stuff. Got into both straps regularly. Even attempted a plane gybe near the shore when the wind lulled, but got flicked into the washing machine (on gentle wash cycle). I got a few tips from an old salt regarding my harness lines. It was very warm there. I forgot my water and was badly dehydrated. Lucky one of my sailing buddies came to the rescue with his water supply.

I think half my trouble is I've lost fitness and forgotten what it's like to sail in real conditions. I do a run, but then am was too exhausted to gybe/tack. So I fall in, have a rest, water start, and do it all again (about the only easy thing today was the water starts).

Well.. hopefully get to do it all again on this weekend

Thanks Gunna. I've been setting up my harness lines according to Gem Hall's DVD (close together)... but after 1 seasons sailing using Gem's technique, and the experience yesterday, I realised that Gem's technique is very difficult (accept in really good conditions).

It was busy on the water yesterday morning. It did feel like a Saturday! I had another season after lunch. The swell was a little bigger. I still suck at starboard tack jumping! I need to go to Maui and practice. Ha ha

At least you gave it a go Gareth - must say it looked largish on the webcam - i can just imagine 300m lines of white water to get out through - if only the place had nice deep channels and reefs!!

Thursday at Grundys was the best I have had there, it blew 15-25 early and then increased to 20-30 with 35+ knot gusts coming through. Maybe this vid will make you feel like you were there if you had to work...[}:)]
