Hi Everyone,
Just a note to get the paper work right. Tomorrows wave-sailing event is the May Event from the Windsurfing SA calendar. There. It is official now. Chris, can you post any updates of venues under this topic?
I'm stoked - looks like a lot of wind tomorrow. See you al there.
Regards, Richard
looks like the wind is going to be nukeing!!! cant wait for some decent action on the water. will meet at U Turns (end of cliff ave seaford) and decide were is best. it will be somewere along the mid from triggs point down to moana. just look out for flags and tents!!! bbq cooking from about 12! see everyone there! any more info call me 0400190770,
cheers Chris.
Go for Moey's, there's no surf may as well save the trek up and down the cliff!
You could set up the barbie in the end shelter (no need for the marque)and sail out in front of the carpark at the end of Second Ave (the bit on the hill).
see ya there!
Hi all - its pretty well dead flat, winds coming down the gulf so Moana is the venue for today.
Could be good for some B&J when the wind kranks in and there's plenty of rigging areas (and you can get a coffee and chippies across the road)
Chris and crew are setting up soon - looking forward to a good day of wind - just waiting on Huey to deliver the promised 20-25knts
See ya there
Sorry, would have come down if there was some swell. Not worth the 45 minute trek when there is windy flat water 5 mins away. Maybe next time :)
Looks like the morning sail was abandoned as per Chris due to a lack of BOM predicted wind ([}:)])- wind is kicking in now and the clouds thickening - looks like the arvo sail may happen.
Called into the mid around 12ish and it was dead flat and a gusty looking 12 or so knots (and no-one to be seen anywhere). Headed down the far and sailed out the front of Maris' place, glug out then crank down the line in sets ranging from waist to head high (the head high set was a one only). Mostly around waist to chest high and holding up enough to get 3, 4 sometimes 5 hits off the top.
Wasn't the most epic of sessions, but was a lot of fun all the same.
Funny sort of wind yesterday - seemed to be stronger up North Haven way than on the Mid. So much for the rule about N being stronger the further south you go :-( Anyone get a sail up north? Or on the Mid in the arvo for that matter?
Sailed U Turns at 130 ish - very powered on 5.6, gusty and flat.
Certainly wasn't anything to get excited about
was very dismal. days like yesterday make me wish i lived in WA. sorry for anyone who turned up and no one was around. we were at the beach since 8.30 and cant wait all day for wind so decided to have lunch then return. most people got a sail but was pretty dissapointing!
Hey Chris,
Bummer you guys didn't head down south, I had a bit of fun down there in some reasonable waves. It was easily the best sail I've had in the last 6 months, but then again it was only the 3rd sail I've had in 6 months![]()
I wouldn't have hung around at Seaford either, so no complaints here.
Northhaven was dead offshore and gusty but had a fun session with Carl, Joe and a few others. Nice and flat for some good runs along the beach between the breakwalls.
I went north instead of south after getting there at 11am. Was crappy. Almost went out at the Lonsdale spot but it was a bit flat and the reef was still a bit exposed. Should have gone to the mid. Damn. Was at least hoping for a snag but there was nobody there....
