Hi all,

I just had my 2010, Fanatic, Freewave, 95L, carbon construction ####ing stolen off the beach at largs sailing club.

I was out on a bigger board in light wind (it actually picked up late arvo and I got sail), and had the 95 FW on the beach.

As I was walking the gear I was sailing back up the beach to the van to pack up, my 95 FW was still there. 10 mins later after packing up I walked back down to the beach to get the 95 FW and it was GONE... . And that's not any where near enough emogies ( I think that's what they're called), to express how I was feeling whilst looking at that bare patch of sand where my board was suppose to be.

If any one see's this board any where, can they please contact the police on 131 444 and quote following details:

That the board belongs to Sam Sowton.

Police ref no : 16 / W 54008

or alternatively knock the mother ##ucker out if you see some one with it or sailing it, ( the latter unlikely ) , take it from them and give me a call. JUST JOKING. But then I spose if they're small some of you larger guys could wrestle the little thief to the ground.

Any way it 'll probably end up on Gum Tree or Ebay. If it goes into any store that sells second hand goods the police will hear about it straight away. That's pretty much the only hope I've got.

It's not all bad though, i' m getting some 2017 Fanatic FW's in Sept this year. Just don't have one to sail between now and then. I 've got another board of similar size but it's no where as good as what was. Massive bummer's and under statement.

Also, does any one know if you can list the board on Sea Breeze as stolen ? And if so how, and then what happens if it's intercepted or detected?

Anyway gotta go. and

Keep an eye on cash converters and gum tree.

I honestly doubt a windsurfer would have taken it, most likely an opportunist wanka trying to make a quick Buck.

I hope you get your board back

That's sucks. I hope you get it back.
I had someone try to take my Starboard a couple years back at Brighton. I got the board back and told him to **** off. There are ass holes out there.

Leave anything unattended on the beach these days and someone's gonna think its theirs - sad but true.

Hope you get it back Sam.

Thanks mate.

Would you believe it, the boards covered under my insurance policy for being stolen from the beach. And even better, because you cant just quickly snap up a second hand Fanatic Freewave the insurance co will pay the full retail price of a new board less a $500 excess. Sweet. Mabey it's karma.

Thanks Joe.

As it's turned out my board's covered under insurance. They'll pay for a new board.

I love happy endings.

Hi Sam

Remember me telling you about an old lady knocking off a brand new board a few years back ?. She dragged it 1/2 km up the beach before I caught up with her. That's why you don't see me leaving stuff on the beach. Glad you got an resolve with the insurance co.

Hi J, Thanks,

I don't actually remember that one. I remember you telling me about cars being broken into a while back but not that board. Was it yours ?

Looks like i'm not the only one who's had a board stolen at the beach.
