ok lets have another try. this time only comment if your generally interested! its about time everyone who wants to help organise a event get together. i know that there are heaps of people who are really keen to get a states happening! i know for a fact that we will be able to get backing from sponsors! and i KNOW that with some good preperation and good weather we could hold a really really aewsome event. september seems to be the month! i think windsurfing SA membership should be a must for insurance purposes. other then that lets get some ideas rolling and have a meeting/talk **** about windsurfing night.... WHO'S WITH ME!
I'm keen and happy to organise something again in the next couple of weeks on a saturday night - maybe make a plan, have a few few beers, sausage sizzle and some Maui footage from Dave if we can get a projector. September is just over five weeks away which gives us precious little time.
We need buy in from as many as possible and get it going very soon - and we can still have an expression session / bbq in August like we planned.
Quite a few I have spoken too would be keen, some have suggested that their is a few long term friendly rivalries that would make for some great sailing and I would guestimate around 30 competitors in possibly an open, social and womens division (if we have enough). cost would have to cover AWA membership (if not a member) and some cover charge for incidentals (beer sausages etc)
Sponsors would be a bonus - but if we want to claim it as states we need to consider AWA-SA windsurfing approval / backing otherwise it would have to be the unofficial states.
how does Saturday the 1st of August sound for a planning night / discussion - venue to be decided (SOMEWHERE CHEAP, SAFE AND FAMILY FRIENDLY)
I'll come along and be the cute little dog sitting on the beach getting pats from all the women...
Just look for me. I have the little brown love heart patch on my back.
If it's cold, just look for the shakin' dog!!!
1st is good mate! need a location????? warm enough room for everyone and central location! we would love for some of the semephore guys to come down!! were abouts!!??? 50 bucks entry fee is not unfare i dont think? that would cover all windsurfing sa fees and a little bit of moneys for sasuages beer prizes and bread!!! ![]()
definatly sounds great! weekend will suit more people. can be nice and informal! lets do it!!! can you approch them russ!! hope there is enough room for the 20 or so organisers!!!!

Unfortunately the Moana SLSC weren't open today - I'll check them tomorrow.
Fingers crossed we get some waves for the session like everyone was getting at Day St today - hard work but good fun everyone was getting some good ones in 5-30 knts of very offshore nnw!!!
Will post some details tomorrow If I have any luck with a venue for the 1st or 2nd of August so we can make a decision on date and do some planning regarding comp format, divisions etc - and what we need to do in the next 6 weeks to get them underway.
sounds good russ! glad to hear that everyone got some waves today! really missing it.cant wait to get in to organising this event! lets hope september gives us some good conditions!
Sorry but the club was closed again today - not sure whats going on - didn't go past till 330 and it was locked up tight.

I will be over this afternoon to grab your SUP, your 104 ltr board (and your 6.4 ) , you wont be needing them for a month or so, dont want them gathering dust do you?
I so feel your pain! Same thing happened to me last year, 1 and ahlf weeks into a three week trip to Maui, sitting on the beach watching everyone else sail was nice, but could have been better!
We all take turns on the sidelines, bad luck mate but its your turn now![]()
