Yeah, fantastic weekend. Thanks Chris, and Onboard and Glascraft. Big thanks for my new laptop/camera backpack. here are some pics from Saturday, still workin on Mondays big day. It was really light inside and hard to get out through the big swell with no wind, filled in about 5.
Didnt want to leave cos the boys Dean Ryles and co were really having fun and could have got some great pics but didnt.
Maybe someone else did???
Sorry to hog the thread. Here are some great pics taken by Vikki on Monday. And yes Marty most of them on the camera are YOU!
Me heading out with no wind and seriously bad timing
Again, no wind, bad timing.

The first person out on Monday was James. There really was not enough wind, but he uphauled and tacked and looked like he had a great time.
What a great weekend, made all the better by the large and diverse group who made the trip.
Once again as always great photos susie, ill have to get one of those cameras like yours since it is so well trained it takes photos even when your sailing, very handy.
Thanks to chris and russ for your efforts in getting the weekend organised. Marty and Vikki
Great weekend - just got back. Well done to those who could make it - some tough sailing conditions on Saturday - a few snottings in the shore break - some good bodywomping when the wind died out and great BBQ from Chris and Gemma.
The footy and cricket was laugh on Saturday night - a few dark horses in the ball sports arena - Gareths one handed fielding while supporting his mexican beer without spilling a drop was impressive.
Sunday was all surfing - everyone got amongst the waves sets were well over head high - pity about the wind - and the new Al Merrick Biscuit felt very sweet in some less than perfect waves - the sets got a bit closey later in the day but great fun was had by all
The feed at the Caledonian Inn was great a few less than originally planned but about 25 had a couple of amber ales and a few Cape Jaffa wines.
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Brett & Tony from Glascraft and Pete from OnBoard for some great random draw prizes that were up for grabs in a free raffle sunday night
Here is how the prizes went:
Maui Sails harness went to Gareth (see the photos as he's wearing it next day)
Pryde wetsuit to Jakob - who was over the moon (he is also wearning it in the photos)
Maui sails Laptop bag to Susie - somewhere to put that camera in between shoots.
Harness lines from Onbaord to Dave
Maui sails soft racks to Marti (who needed them to stop his boards damaging his roof)
Roxy cooler bag to Karen (will have the coolest lunch bag in ICU)
Ross, Penny and Andy managed to score some Starboard and Maui Sails T Shirts.
And the kids walked away with a boat load of stickers
Again a big thanks to both the shops - Onboard and Glascraft for their generosity everyone was blown away with the stuff you provided.
Finally Australia Day and the wind arrives -sets keep coming
How much fun - and hard work at times was yesterdays sailing everyone was amongst the waves - and the odd snotting followed by a swim - hate to say it but it just kept getting better - There were still a few of us out getting some nice over head high sets - the wind filled in sets kept coming and there was a bank to the right of the carpark that was breaking pretty sweetly on the sets - even got a couple of nice ones myself..- was hard to not just keep going back for another one - by 5pm I was exhausted and called it a day.
Cheers to everyone that came down - the Caledonian Hotel for the exclusive use of the top room and Chris Hail for his energy in getting everyone enthused and organising the tent - a shade haven all weekend - Glascraft and Onboard for the giveaways
Might have to do it again some time.
Cheers,
Russell
