I've got a few days off next week after a long work trip on a ship. I would like to try some wave sailing in small surf. No greater than 1.5ft. Is that possible down in the SE next week ?

Hi Pilly, I've only got a Corolla. Will she make it into those spots ?. Are you sailing next week ?. Definitely keen. Metro seabreezes will fail for sure.

You can sail upwind from Third Ramp at Robe and the waves are gradually smaller. On a typical day, you would just need to sail about 300m upwind and you should have 1.5ft waves

Corolla in summertime should be fine.
If there is crew at Robe that you know I'd sail near them.
One out of 3 with a 5 out of 10 rating from the group. Half mast on average with the occasional logo high wave. 5.0m sail for me, 4.7 for Paul and 4.2 for the short one.
Consistent sets meant little waiting around, except when I bogged the car with trailer on the beach. Winching out performance was 3 out of 10... Plenty of good footage taken.

In reflection, im not sure if it was the land rover.....or the driver.....
Maybe some TREDS or MAXTRAX might be an addition to the trailer - looks like you might get some use out of them

He already has some Russ, and all the other recovery gear and left it at home. I think he thought he was as proficient at four wheel driving as he is at Forward loops.
