Robe Easter Wavesailing and Kitesurfing Classic 2009.
Well it’s on again, this Easter at Robe. Friday 10th April – Sunday 12th April 2009.
The Robe Classic has been going for over 20 years, and is the longest running wave sailing event in Australia. This comp is a free ride event over 3 days. It’s open to all ages and abilities of riders in windsurfing and kiting. In the past is been a very social comp and this year its going to be even bigger.
The event looks like this
Friday at 3rd Ramp- 10am to 12pm Sign up and collection of show bags
12.00pm BBQ
12.30pm Comp briefing
1pm – 5pm 1st judged free ride round
7pm- 12.30am 3rd ramp beach party put on by
Coopers and Red Bull.
Fully supplied alcohol and DJ
Saturday at 3rd Ramp- 1pm – 5pm 2nd Judged free ride round
Saturday Night; 8pm Robe Pub, Mega night of craziness
Sunday at 3rd Ramp- 1pm – 5pm 3rd Judged free ride round
Sunday Night –Caledonian Hotel- Front Lawns. From 6.30pm Presentation Night.

Good news about the Friday night 3rd beach party..
We have been able to organize a Taxi mini bus to get you out to 3rd and back at the end of the night.
The 7 seater mini bus will do shuttle runs from Celebration Bottle shop (opps Mobile) From 7pm
And will do return shuttles from 3rd ramp until 12.30pm.
All for only $25 each way.. that’s works out to about $3.60 each..
That’s so much better that having Dessy Drivers or taken the chance on over loading cars or drink driving.

Hey windsurfer type people, get into onboard to sign up for the robe comp.. Dont want all the cool jumpers going to all the kiters..
So far 37 compititors have signed up and there are only 3 windsurfers, and in the 3 windsurfers one is kiting and windsurfer and other is his dad.
So the other good news this year, is we have set windsurfing area and kiting areas. with the windsurfers have the better break. most likely from infront of the carpart to the right of the boat ramp and the kiters will be up wind. There will be red bull bouys and flags to divid the two groups.

Its going to be a massive weekend..
Just letting you guys all know as well, you get 1/2 hour free parking under onboard.. If you are just dropping into teh shop, its the best way to go.. I know that parking at the bay sucks.
The reason we dont have forms at Porties, is its to hard to keep totals of every thing.

13 days to go.. Heaps of crew are heading to far coast on sunday for some, much need wave training session.
goto to be getting stoked by now.. Had a talk to the DJ yeaterday, they are fully stoked on keeping tunes cracked at 3 rd all weekend..
