Forecast looking a possibility for Robe on Sunday - so here's your advance notice quattro.
Conditions unlikely to be epic - swell may be just enough (say around head high) and wind forcast at SE 15/25 (which will probably be sub-planing on a 5.3m on the way out). But still should be some half decent wave riding from late afternoon.
I'm looking to do another day trip as not much else happening over the next forecast week.
haha ... thanks :)
i've been watching the sunday forecast waiting for your update.
someone from your regular day-trip team gave me some swell forecasting tips for Robe .. my understanding is that the forecast is 9-10ft and 13sec period and this is about the minimum for a good sail at Robe.
if all still looks good on sunday morning and hopefully the clouds disappear, i'll be good to go.
Im at Semaphore at the moment but just checked with my mate in Robe. Its 1.5 - 2 foot with 18 - 25 SE at present. My guess is both wind and swell might be a bit dodgy tomorrow but will ask him to check again in the morning for those who might be considering a trip. If it is on and anyone either has a spare seat or wants to jump into my bus and share the petrol money I might head down for a day trip tomorrow.
Forecast looking dodgy. BOM Wind forecast downgraded to 15/20 and Cape du Couedic picked up to 2.5m but seems to be fading towards 2.0m.
I've had second thoughts also. Forecast was similar yesterday and wind observations were marginal.
There is less cloud in Adelaide today which might help the seabreeze. Perhaps yesterday it was cloudy down south as well.
Aparently the swell has picked up a bit - don't have a report on what it is doing at third ramp but there is more swell than yesterday.
3rd ramp report head high waves. Wind light but se and cloud - yesterday was windy (5.3) but flat. On my way now.
Conditions ended up being pretty average overall until after 6pm. Waves were friendly and chest high but wind was light and a bit too cross shore until 6pm when it went more offshore. Still managed to get 3 hours sailing but it only just rates.
