Thinking of getting into paragliding and then maybe paramotoring as a light wind alternative.

Anyone done it/ or thinking about doing it?

Thinking paramotoring might be a nice way to see the world on those windless days and paragliding offering an alternate for those sub 15 knotters.

You guys just need to buy bigger windsurf gear! My 137L Thommen Fast-X and 7·5m Gator works well as a light wind option.

My surgeon has given me the green light to return in June. I cannot wait to get back on the water! I'm trying to do as much rehab stuff as I can to speed up the process, Physio, Podiatry, swimming and bike riding. Still cannot walk without a limp.

I agree. Many sailors only have small gear, and as a result, I always see them do a few runs followed by a beach walk. Small is beautiful, but sailing on apparent wind using a 7m sail is pretty cool as well

Jay, I only own small gear, my biggest sail is a 5.3 with an 82 litre board and i never beach walk. Guess it helps when you only weigh 63.5kg

is it windy on the world tour????

i didn't mean to offend anyone...
i understand the frustration of sailing underpowered.
But if you can hold yourself back enough i've found it more rewarding to sail when its actually windy.
that's my theory, Im down for what anyone likes.

Yeah, I learnt that philosophy off you . I'm just beginning to learn how to sail with small gear in moderate/light wind, but I still like my big gear when it's onshore and mushy.

Thats it Jay, all you have to do is tell yourself your never gonna walk upwind again. Mind you I know what Russ means cause last robe trip i had to do it, mind you it was 0-12knots with 3-4ft of swell.

sadly russ your right.
i only have the budget for a small quiver.
a 5m and wave board only work well if its windy.
would love to have a trailer full but i cant afford it.

soon as its 25knots you know ill be there.
