Hah! Classic Geoff! Now I know what that would sound like. Works for me :-)
Nice sailing - you make it look easy.
Nice1, if ya get time can ya put up footage from today's epic haven session. Btw do you know why the swell was so big there today? Seems like everywhere else was pretty flat.
Combination of new swell (refer Cape Decoudic wave observations on BOM), wind direction and tide movement.
There was no new swell last night on the mid Bondie - was dead flat except for occaisonal ankle slapper - even the usual wind lumps out to sea were pretty small - Howling SSE though - possibly a local effect of wind waves blowin up the gulf and tide - a bit like we get with nnw at the mid - plenty of lumps but no breaking waves
Thanks Russ, I didnt look into the new swell on the KI bouy to hard as to whether any of it got into the gulf. I think your spot on with it being wind swell.
North Haven looked really good. Unfortunately the wind died 15mins after i hit the water.![]()
Others got an epic sail.

Yeah, that's why I got sick of Haven a few years ago. Rock up, rigged up, wind dies. Look south and see sailors having a good time at Sems. .. but I had a really good session at Haven today. If there is more like today, I'll be back :). Made up for the rubbish served up at Sems yesterday.
BTW: keep up the good work with the vids Geoff and I saw you do an awesome forward today ![]()
No J, the wind dies for him because the earliest he can get there is 6.45pm .
By then everyones had there 2-3+ hours and its already shutting down.
Haven is the last place to shut down I would have thought, if theres nothing there I doubt sems would have more?
??
Scotty gave me a couple of 'forward tips'. I kind of knew then, but was not 'doing them'. It helped as the few I did afterwards where I actually did put my hand back and could go down wind, they were really fast. I just need to get more upright on the lift off now!
Saw some fantastic back loop attempts there last night, and the night before was AWSOME. Unfortunately I had the front facing cam last night and backwards the night before, should have had it the other way round.
If anyone is out there and I am following them slightly upwind and behind, it is because I am trying to get some footage of them. Works out sometimes, am gradually getting more of others. Just have to be so close, which can be intimidating to the other sailor. Also does not work so well when I have more power as I end up sailing over them before they get moving...
