Just wondering where are the places to go over at Yorkes for some good Waves and wind.
If anyone has windsurfed over there what wind direction works.

Hi Sheetin - I sailed Marion bay once on a sw'r and just trapped weed on my fin. A few crew have said that Gleesons landing on a seabreeze / strong se'r is sailable down from the boat launch - havn't sailed it but surfed their a lot in my younger days (beachies at the far end of gleesons, bum breakers and at the point on big stormies) - I have always looked at Berry Bay near Corny point and thought it would be a good option for a North/nw'r.
Pondie shorebreak would be a pain in the arse to negotiate - but a strong se'r would be fun on the lefts
If you could be bothered lugging your gear Dust bowl might be OK on a nnw.
Best bet is Chinamens, 6-8ft with a stiff easterly or 3rd reef Daly's with a strong southerly (only Joking)

Chinamens sounds the Go....only worried about getting the gear down the cliff there.
I'm going over to Port Rickaby soon (fishing) for two weeks and chucking the gear in.
Most days a good seabreeze comes up. Last time I was there it blew its tits off for a week...........So this time I'm going prepared to either scary the wind off with my gear so I can go fishing every day or make the most of it and get a sail in.
in my surfin days ,saw 3 guys sailing the bombie in the middle of the bay at gleesons on a good 20 knt seabreeze,and they blitzed,we called em wind wankers from our tent site but it sure looked good fun,now i call em sailors.like russ said launch from boat ramp.probably same guys had a go at dalys in sthly but swam in,only small conditions and gusty wind.also saw few blokes have a go at pondi,not main break but to side {richards} on low tide,3-4ft in sth/east once again gusty and no good.I allways thought samon hole in a nw/westly would be a great wave sailing spot,the ponte preta of sth aus but one mistake and youd pay.
Wouldnt that be a blast, chargin thru the surfers at spitz on a 25knt sth/westly cross/off perfect angle....theyd luv it?
Maybe we should have a Yorkes expedition one weekend - hang at Gleesons and sus out a few spots to sail - March Adelaide cup long weekend would be good.
