Just wondering if anyone has a kids rig not being used that they want to sell. I have a board looking for around 2.5m sail boom and mast.
Any help would be appreciated cheers Alan

Hi Alan,

From the lack of responses here you can imagine that these rigs are not too common, I know of only a few in the state and they probably wouldn't be parting with them anytime soon,

We are looking at hoilding some come and try days at West Lakes in the summer, maybe you could come and have a go with your groms,

You may want to look interstate for one, if you are looking to purchase,

I have some experience with the small Ezzy Rigs, we had a 2.0 and a 2.5 that rigged on an aluminium mast and soft grip boom, super light and easy to use,

Severne do small sails for kids, these sails (we have one) are just smaller versions of the adult sails, tough as nails (plus you could use it if it ever blows 50 knots!)

Hi snoopySA,

If you are looking for a new rig, DexterSurf can help with these options from North, Fanatic or Arrows:

North Drive Cloth ...

Fanatic Rigs ...

Arrows iRig ...

Note that the first & second order of the season has closed. Next order is Dec 16 for Feb 17 delivery ... not great for this summer :(

Snoopy, in the past, I have had a bit of luck finding this sort of gear for friends kids on Gumtree. Check out this link, because sometimes you can get a bargain!

Here're some guidelines from Simon Bornhoft (Boards (Sept11) magazine):
board vol (L) - 3x to 4x body mass (kg)
(<28cm fin and centre fin/small daggerboard)
Sail size
5-6 yo 1.0 - 1.5 m2 kids's rig
6-8 yo 1.5 - 2.0 m2 kids'
8-10 yo 1.5 - 2.5 m2 kids'
10-12 yo 2.0 - 2.5 m2 kids'
12-14 yo 2.5 - 3.5 m2 kids'
They suggest towing them behind you ( 5m line) in flat non-planing conditions
