After all the hype its a C grade event that doesn't include the top 32 -

Personally think - not sure who will feel like getting ripped off by sealink is worth it - the ferry trip with 3 adults and 1 child car and a camper trailer is $684

Better off going to the Yorkes classic or heading to the west coast - you can get the whole weekend including accomodation fuel and food.

There is no incentive to visit it - no matter how nice it is

The camping ground has been upgraded at Vivonne Bay and the facilities are great with hot showers being completed soon and the council is charging only around $10 per night, pretty cheap but the let down of course is the fares charged by Sealink.
Todays paper has an article saying the government is looking at upgrading the airport and the cost to tourists to get here on the ferry because they want to showcase KI as the "jewel" of SA and double the tourists visiting here.
The first thing they should have done years ago is not hand Sealink the monopoly of the ferry service . We are the only OZ island that does'nt have subsidized fares for locals ,it's cheaper to travel to Tassie if you are a local to that island and we are the 3rd biggest island in OZ. Sealink gives us locals a small discount but iff they want more people to come here they will have to deal with Sealink .Some locals don't want Sealink to drop it's price because they don't want the tourists here but it's SA best kept secret and more SA people should be able to access this island cheaply - after all it's only 15km from Cape Jervis and most families are put off spending hundreds of dollars for a 15 km trip and rightly so !

Sealink from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw is the most expensive ferry per mile in the world.
