The final round of this 3 round series is scheduled for this weekend.........but the forecast doesn't look so good.
I'm thinking of holding off for a week or two - everyone happy with this?
Steve, how are you placed with the rescue boat for the next few weekends? Maybe you could PM me and we can work things out.
As for the format, we had the marathon first round, and speed resulted from the second round when it was too windy to set a slalom course. I guess that leaves us with slalom for this round, but I think that might be up in the air when we get a decent forecast. It would be great to have a race day on the super flat water at Goolwa - might do speed again?
Cheers, Chris.
Yeah sounds good chris. Would love to get out again with you all and especially to try out that speed spot which im STILL yet to give ago after the disapointment on the weekend lol. Were happy for you to leave it up in the air too. Dad and i dont usually decide until at least the night before anyway so were flexiable.
Cheers, keep us posted

Chris,
I assume if we don't get an email, then it's not on??
or is all communication happening thru this forum?
That's rigt John. When the next round is scheduled, it will be shown here, and also emailed to the 'database' of local competitors.
Still waiting for a decent weekend forecast. The way we are going, it looks like it might run into Spring....
Actually......This Saturday is looking pretty windy. It could change, but is it worth scheduling for this weekend?
Steve, you available with the boat?
Everyone let me know.
Hello to all ,jeez it would be nice to get out there again eh! I've been away working for a while but I'm back now and Saturday sounds good , but which venue?
It'd be nice to sail on the Goolwa speed channel, but maybe we can call it tomorrow or Wed? Let's just wait for the green arrows to settle down. Good that you are back Steve. Cheers.
The final round of the KASailWINTERSERIES'08 will be this Saturday 30th August, at Goolwa 'Alpha' Channel, Rankine's Landing, Hindmarsh Island.
Great KA Prizes!
Rego + Briefing 11am!
Format decided on the day.
Steve, you cool with the boat?
Post to this forum with any queries.
Aloha.
*** CHANGE OF VENUE ***
The winds look like they will hold a little longer from the North, so I'm changing the venue back to Boggy Lake.
So it's an 11am rego + briefing at Boggy Lake, tomorrow Saturday 30th August.
See you there.
The KASailWINTERSERIES was wrapped us yesterday with another round of speed sailing at Boggy Lake in 20-30 knots of wind. Thanks to Steve Roberts for the use once again of his boat, and to KA Sail for their ongoing generous support of our local racing Summer and Winter Series. The WINTERSERIES prizes were raffled at the end of yesterday’s competition with the KA/Lockwood fin voucher being won by Richard Upton, the KA weight vest won by Norm Clarke, and the Wave fins were won by Joe Belluzzo, Milos Milutinovic and Geoff Shuttleworth. Nearly everyone else received caps, t-shirts, stickers etc and of course all enjoyed a few beers during the presentation. Medals were awarded to the 1st, 2nd + 3rd place finishers for each of the rounds, and an overall winner trophy was presented to Sam Doecke for sailing consistently well through the series.
Thanks to everyone for supporting this event.
Awesome Cris sounded like a good day. Sorry i couldnt make it. The old mans getting soft, dont like the winter sailing and i also sprung it on him saturday morning. Ah well. Is there going to be another Summer Series do you know??? Now i have my GPS would love to sign up for that!!!
We will hopefully get out a bit more this season now that all the surgery and that has happened this year. Been going real slow for about 6 months leading up to it and now i just cant wait to get out this season. Its killing me, looking forward to our 2 week holiday at Goolwa as well over new years which is always good fun. Always improve heaps then too.

Thanks again to Chris for organising this series. Hats off to KA sails for their sponsorship. I was lucky enough to walk away with the major draw prize - a voucher for a KA Lockwood - McDougall speed fin!
3 events in a row all with plenty of wind. Have to be happy with that.
Richard.
