Looks like I missed a good weekend of sailing at the Goolwa channel!
I'm pretty keen to go down for the long week-end coming up. If there's enough people going down I'll bring all the demo gear and the barbie (and the beers) and make a week-end of it.
Let me know if anyone's keen and I can see how many people I can get down there.

We could be there Muzza, although we were looking at Beachport as an option TBH, could be some water in there soon.

I was keen to have a crack at the gear on saturday, but after destroying my 5.7 I wasnt keen to destroy any of the shops 6 metre sails!

Yeah sounds like a great idea. The demo days have always been great. Goolwa sounds good - nice and close. I still havnt tried the speed channel so hopefully getting down there soon to give it a go.

Cheers, i'm up for it.

We'll see what happens. I might just come down on the Monday if the conditions are looking good.
I should have a board that's more suited to the conditions (ie not a wave board) by then.
Don't think the demo gear will happen, but the beer is still pretty likely!
Hopefully the conditions and a good crowd will be there (or where ever its happening). Could be a good practice run for the KA Sails Marathon.

Muzza, if you want to hold a demo day, hold a demo day, people will come!

The long weekend is looking like a goolwa affair for us, so we will stay with Kym's parents maybe over the long weekend and maximise sailing in the lake, Kent reserve, Goolwa beach or the mouth.

I hope I didnt put Leanne and Brett out by getting excited about trying new kit out, as I am always up for that, but last Saturday was bloody windy, I was exhausted and i had just destroyed my own 5.7 (which reminds me, I should go pick that up!) hence not confident I wouldnt do the same thing with a loaner.

Heres hoping for some wind peoples!

If it was up to me I hold a demo day every day its windy.
Unfortunately I have to plead my case for everything that I want to do to promote windsurfing, the shop and our brands. (Such as demo days).
But as I said, we weren't planning a demo day, just going sailing and if some of the 'Seabreezer's' showed interest in using some gear, I would bring it down.
More than likely, if conditions look good, I'll only be coming down on the Monday which is my day off.
If Brett decides he wants some demo gear down there on the weekend, it'll be on the Sunday (work day).

Hi Muzza,

If you can bring some gear, some wind and some beer if you bring the beer we wont need the wind - i am sure there will be a good crowd. Let us know when!

Cheers,

Carl

Hey Carl,
I'll have a chat with Brett when I'm back at work later this week.
He takes a bit of convincing when it comes to paying me to go windsurfing.
Sounds great to me though.
Hoping for a howling westerly so I can see you do mid 40's on your new sails!

Sunday of the June long week-end sounds like its a goer if we get some wind.
I'll be down with demo gear for anyone to use.
If anyone's worried about using the gear, just wait to you see me on the water using it... after sailing only about 3 times in the last 9 months and having enough trouble walking around on dry land, it could be very entertaining for anyone watching when I get on a board again!
I'll keep my eye on the weather and keep you posted.

Friday's forecast is for showers, so it's possible we might have a nice front come through right in time... bring it on!

Hi Muzza,

It looks like it is going to be south easterlies. You might have to change venue to Milang. Nice long cruises out in the main lake. Keep us informed.

Cheers,

Carl

I'll keep an eye on the weather, it looks very light at this stage... not quite what I had in mind!
Milang's good for me though.
Anywhere there's water, wind and a pub!
We've got a demo Starboard 'Start'. If its light we could set up the barbie and deck chairs on the front and all go for a scenic sail!
I'll keep you posted.

Ah really, Milang works for us. But i was kind of looking forward to giving the new speed spot a go. If it's not going to be windy though i suppose you go wheres best. Wouldn't the Murray Mouth work as well because it's closer to the ocean. I've found it's windier there than at the South Lake.

Muzza if my mate Pittsy wants to come along, would you have a start or go with a small sail he could potter around on? He knows the basics that i've taught him, but is still learning and he sotres his gear at Goolwa, so won't be able to get it easily for the weekend if you go to Milang. Any floaty board (preferable start, go etc.) and a non cammed 4 to 5m sail just in case he wants to come along with my dad and i? If it's going to be a bit light on for wind it will be ideal conditions for him to get out there.

Cheers
Bubs

EDIT: If you don't have a sail he can always borrow my 5m, but ideally he would have something around the 4m mark if you could bring one.

Hi Bubs,
I'll keep watching the weather and hope it improves.
If the conditions warrant us coming down with some gear and we can fit in the Start or maybe a Rio, I'd be happy to get him up and going.
I'll keep updating our plans here... keep your fingers crossed and who knows, the wind mind turn it on for Goolwa after all!

At the moment the wind for Sunday could be 5 knot NE to 20 SE depending on which forecast you go by.
It may be a late decision as to where and/or if I'm heading down with some gear.
Any thoughts on what the winds going to do and where everyone's going to be?
I'm pretty keen for Kent Reserve if the conditions will suit!
Could bring a kombat and futura for anyone to play on.

Bummer... light Easterlies forecast for tomorrow (Sunday).
I guess I'll have to work instead!
I'm hoping to organise a 'big' demo day for the beginning of the '09 season.
If I get my way, it'll be the biggest demo day/weekend we've had in SA!
Hopefully the wind will turn up on cue!
