Hi guys, I just finished watching my girlfriend complete a beginners windsurfing course with Matt Stringer of WindSup Windsurfing School. While talking to him, he suggested that he is going to try and organise an intermediate windsurfing course for people like myself who have the basic skills but want to get into more advanced stuff like harnesses and other advanced techniques.

His beginner class with my partner was fantastic and he got her from wobbling on the board to tacking, gybing and sailing upwind in no time at all. She didnt even hit the water once (which she was very pleased about)

Im putting this up to find out if there is any interest from those of you like me who are past the beginners stage and want to progress to being able to do things like the seacliff to semaphore run ont he 2nd of january 2011.

If we can get a few people interested, Matt will do a weekend trip away to somewhere like boggy, lake george, Moonta or other locations where we can hone our sailing skills under a very capable instructor and in general, have a great weekend away making new friends.

Anyway, please post something if this sounds like something that may interest you. If we can get numbers together, we can then get a price from Matt for the weekend away.

(Matt, if you have any more details other than what we talked about last weekend please add to this topic!)

I would be keen to get this weekend up and going just after the Onboard demo day at milang on november 20th (i think) but before christmas. Or after christmas in january when the wind is good.

Cheers, Luke.

I got a message from Matt yesterday saying that he is going to try and organise an intermediate class for this coming sunday the 30th ( i think he meant 31st) from 12pm till 4 at the brighton/seacliff yacht club for some intermediate training.

The class will go over:

correct rigging, harnesses, beach starts and getting into the footstraps.

costs $60pp if you have your own gear or you can use his for $100 all up. If you want to join our intermediate class or find out more information about the class, call Matt directly on 0417858641.

we need 13-18 knots SW for this to work so he will make a decision on thursday if we get enough interest and the weather comes in nice.

Just putting this up cause we need a couple of people to make it worth while for matt to come and do it.

Cheers, Luke.

Had a really great day yesterday with Matt and the WindSup school's intermediate class at seacliff yacht club. Went over beach starts, rigging for windy conditions and beach starts. First time I have been in sea water and not a lake. really different trying to tack and gybe in waves! It picked up towards the end of the day but was a great experience.

Thanks Matt!

See you for the SUP race this weekend!

cheers, Luke.
