Howdy,
just wondering who has their gear insured, what company and premiums you pay.
I just tried to insure my 3 boards through SGIC and they want to have 3 different boating policies for each board. Each policy would be an annual fee of 189.00 dollars and cover me up to $3000 and this would cover me for my mast, boom and board, not even the sails. They had to be an added extra and more $$.
So i feel that this is pretty crap coverage.
Any ideas on who's good.
im with westpac. they added my gear as a extra on my house. i pay 56 buck month for home and contents. includes my gear. just not covered when im in a competition. its easier to go and talk to them in person.
Wesfarmers.
I have a ****load of gear insured with them (including Windsurfing trailer) for a realistic annual premium. It is insured unconditionally for theft etc.
Well worth it and good to know it's covered.
Wesfarmers are excellent (you don't often hear that about Insurance companies).
Hi sheetin, I've got all my gear listed under our household insurance, If you list it as portable its covered as long as it's in a locked car. We've got ther house with AMP
Wifey had been naggin me for years about getting some insurance, felt pretty safe because apart from 2 boards on roof rack [wally ,tiga that cost total $153]the rest is locked up in a trailer.Did a stock take and came up with about 14 gs worth, went to the insurance broker and he said no, new -replacement cost then come back and see us,+10gs later i cant remember the figures but to cover it all for replacement was out of the question IMO,but by simply adding it to my household contents cover[no extra premium] i have cover that entitles me to a max 2g claim on any single item annually.
O.K so Hail and Chris D you both have your W.S gear fully insured under Home insurance polices.
Have you ever had to claim for broken or stolen w.s gear on the policy ??how did you go.
PM if you prefer.
havent tryed to claim yet. might be different story after margaret river! the lady said im covered for everything exept for in a competition. up to 6 grand a year.
