and it's online bidding, so every shop in Australia will know about it... especially the MauiSails dealers that got screwed and now can get some gear without dealing with a tosser!

We will all suffer when we try and sell our second hand sails etc - the market flood has the potential to decrease the value for everyone - I'm not sure what stock they have but for some its a great opportunity but it will still have flow on effects for us all.

just might want to check warranty etc - I am sure no one will be keen to honour stock that they have provided in good faith to a business that went belly up and only been paid a liquidators % for the stock. Would leave a sour taste in all distibutors mouths.

I hope it all sells close to retail so it doesn't ruin anybody else.

Funny... I can now say what I think of MauiSails without it being taken as sales jabber! There are 2 ways to describe MauiSails... 'I love them' & 'I've never tried them'... you should try one Chris!
I know there's other shops around that'll try and tell you they're just an ok brand or they're rebranded Gaastra's, both is a crock. They are sensational sails and whoever picks up these bargains will be on awesome gear.
Personally, I'd love to see the brand get picked up by someone who will do it justice.
Just my 2 cents worth!

My Mauisails sails sails are excellent. The only problem with them is they are imported.

The Legend's full X ply.

Does anyone know how these auctions work? Surely they won't be auctioning each and every item individually??? I was assuming they'd sell it in bundles.... sails, booms... etc intended mostly for business stock buyers - will be a long process if they go item by item...

Going to be a lot of cheap gear flooding the market this summer which is never good for the industry really. Sad to see a windsurf business go belly up to.

Fletch, I reckon it will be a single item auction, I would imagine it will be a long process.....

only 7 boards for sale, however 26 Legend sails 09. 19 TR4's to keep the speed freaks happy. 16 titans few sails to pick from. So might be a chance to get a cheap sail, no shop will bid over cost price so if you are lucky you might get a bargin.

26 '09 Legends? They've never had that many in the shop!
Still a good range to choose from though.
They must have sold a few boards in the few weeks after I left...me thinks someones garage is looking pretty good [}:)]

Not so sure things will go for cheap.......today people where bid up and paying prices that seemed a bit high. Guess a lot is luck.

Also noticed whoever put together the packages was not a windsurfer RDM masts with normal diameter extensions wrong deck plate fittings for extension etc etc the list goes on.

Yesterday it was slow and you have to stand around a long time. It went all day. Also the overhead display was not working so you could not see what you where bidding on and had to really listen out for the lot numbers. You need a catalogue to follow print at home or $2 (but they ran out yesterday). However more lots have been added.

Even better, you could just check the online site every now and then (in between working) and pick up some bargains.
Funny to watch some of the gear go for more than it was being sold for originally!
I like some of the packages... 8 metre sail with a 400 mast A bargains a bargain I guess.

The Tr4's and MAui Carbon booms were the best buys by far, around the $600 for the race booms is a steal
