If you sail at boggy you've probably read the 'boggy fact sheet' which starts...
"Found by some local Murray Bridge windsurfers in the early 90's this place is now really popular"
if it's true, who are these early nineties windsurfing dudes and where are they now?
I believe most of them kiteboard or wakeboard now! I remember seeing some good slalom racing in the day. From memory Chris D did well in some of them
and i remember seeing Scott C do some nice big jumps
.
Too old to remember their Names but they did a lot of work with the council to get access and later a graded road, was messy before that! John Rode might have some old archived info from the "SA Funboard Association" era.
i think it all started in the late Eights. remember getting bogged one "event" weekend, Hayden was only about 14-15.. he's ancient now ![]()
Scott Chamberlain, Murray Story, Wally Olenich...
These guys were the original Murray Bridge sailors that first found the place. Then the Adelaide hordes came and conquered.
As for where are they now?
Scott is still there on his kite, Murray is the 'real estate king of Mount Barker' and I'm not sure what Wally is up to.
They're all great guys - it'd be nice to have them all back on the water.
thanks chris was racking whats left of my brain for scotts last name, he did a bit of middleton ripping on the odd occasion when i was first getting into the wavey stuff
all i could remember was that he was from the bridge, his name was scott and he drove a white pannely
