A question for some of the older crew in SA!
What is the name of the boom heads that were made at Port Noarlunga Sailboards back in around '85/'86?
I know they were trying to patent the first clamp on boom head, but I can't think of the name of them!
For those who weren't around then, I can tell you that they were crap and they didn't win the race, a euro company got there first!
Anyone know?
Muuuuuuu.. I remember the boom head but not the name
If i have a Junior moment (and Remember!) I'll get back to Ya

Hears one for you, did you know that theres Rip Curl windsurfing sails? i didn't until a mate gave me one years ago, un used and around 4.5m! I still have it, i wonder if its a collector's item yet!![]()

yowl now thats a teaser, The boom ends were made by a guy called Andy McCraken i dont know what they were called but your right they never cut the mustard.I gave them a go for awhile back in the 80's. I think also Tyronsea had a go at a boom end.
The Rip Curl sails were a composite dacron & Mylar sail, again limited sucess,i think i still have one in the cellar but may have used it as a shade for my Hydrangea's
I think I have a photo of me using one At Diamond Head back in the 80's.
From my memory the ripcurl sails turned into windseries sails, then evolved into WildWinds. I had a set of windseries dacron wave sails in the old days. In the late 80's Wildwinds was huge don't know why they faded out of the scene I think from memory they too evolved into KA sails.
Muzza
