You asked for it, and here is our response! In conjunction with Matt Stringer from the WindSUP school, Windsurfing SA will host a Come and Try Windsurfing Day at Tiranna way, West Lakes on Sat 18th Dec.

Matt will give newbies 1hr 45 min introductory lessons in groups of 6

9am start First group of 6
11 am Next group of 6 etc.

Participants need to be there 15 mins before their lesson starts. Cost for windsurfing lesson is $30 pp

If you have a friend that you want to teach on your own board, bring that down - the more the merrier! Might be a good chance to work on some longboard freestyle - you know you want to!

Also, a good chance to try SUP if you haven't done that before. If people want to hire a SUP they can. Sup hire prices are $10 for half hour, $15 for one hour and $20 for two hours. Sup is pretty relaxed. No bookings required, just rock up and have a go.

If we get enough SUPer's together, we could organize a cruise around Delfin island. Takes about 90 min apparently.

Register your interest here, or contact Matt at WinSUP in person:
Phone: 0417 858 641
Email: mstringer3@bigpond.com

Matt is doing a great job of getting people into our sport - let's get behind him!

Regards, Richard

sounds perfect! Everytime I wanted to go get lessons it conflicted with my sailing, so a session in the morning may just work for me depending on what I am racing next weekend

Looks like there will some wind for us.

Tiranna way is realy sheltered in a SW and I have plenty of 2.5 and 3.5 rigs so anyone who is a bit put off by the forcast do not worry we have it all covered and windsurfing sucsess is just around the corner.

Thanks to Matt for some excellent instruction. It's amazing what a good board and a good teacher can do. By the end of the morning, Lily was tacking and gybing and could sail up and down the lake at will. She was pretty stoked and wants to come back for more. In fact everyone made real good progress - brilliant.

Tirrana Way is probably the best old school freestyle venue in Adelaide too. A great place to hone a few skills for experienced sailors when the wind is light and you can't face mowing the lawn :-) I got a real workout on the Kona - probably fell off and uphauled more than anyone that day. I know Lily didn't fall in for the first hour of her lesson!
