This Sunday is another scheduled day for racing.
Preliminary forecast looks around 12-18 knots SW/SE for the Sth Coast.
Murray Mouth?
Who's keen and what are your thoughts?
The weed wasnt an issue last week.....oh your talking about sailing arent you??
Goolwa was fine last week, Phoebe sailed for an hour or so at the Acqua Cafe, I wouldl ike to check out the murray mouth though, good exploring with the kids,
Lets keep a close eye on the forecast, but keen for a blast!
Kym away this weekend in QLD, so bound to be windy! :)
seen some footage of the mouth on the box earier this week, seems to have a seal collony on the inside of it. stoked theres some water about and crew will be hitting the lakes again. my old boy might benifit at clayton and actualy use his van there this summer
I'm keen but I'm doing the City-Bay first thing. Might be a little late and a little knackered.
Maybe Goolwa if the weather favours newbies/kids and the Murray Mouth if we have a chance of getting short-boards going for some slalom?
I'm in, preferably in the arvo like Richard(although im not doing the C-B!)
Either location for me but Goolwa has more facilities for lunch & families etc.
Ok so there's a few interested.
What say we make it Goolwa Lake for an arvo session of racing / social / equipment tuning pre Lake George Race weekend?
Let's make it 1pm, but those of you who are running in the morning may be a little later.
I'll pack the buoys, but there are plenty of channel markers to use to set a course. Can arrange to grab the boat once we are there and we'll see how many people turn up.
Cheers, Chris D.
See ya there with da family rigs sups big boards and kids rigs in tow - might need a B double to get it all there though!!!
9 !! gee's you are keen !
have to leave for work right then but if you are early love to have a chat for a min!
hope you all have a bit of wind and lot's of fun
see you at beachport
Have fun everyone, wife and kids are sick - fully sic so I can't make it. They are getting in perfect sinc with the calendar days! Looks like it will be a nice day.
Looks like you guys made the wrong call for Goolwa. Check out the readings at Outer Harbor this arvo. Had a great sail ![]()
We had a good turnout today for some flat water cruising at Goolwa. Everyone got planing, and most were surprised at the conditions - didn't look too windy from the beach.
No official racing, but a good social sail with a nice cold beer at the end courtesy of Mr Biscuit.
Personally I logged up 73km's today - that's plenty of sailing in my books.
See you all at Lake George. ![]()
Chris D.
29.33 knots. That can't be right.
Two months of windsuffering frustration got focused into today's session
. It was a bit under powered, but I still really enjoyed it. It was nice catching up with everybody and having beers with everyone afterwards ![]()
Sorry I missed you Dave (S018).
Chris is going to send me his GPS log. I'll make a video of me, Chris and Koshi.

PS/ Even the 'Semaphore blasting' seagulls were there, waiting for Koshi to give them chippies ![]()
Hi T
The white pole looking thing with 20.7 knots above it is my top speed marker. I'm in the foreground slugging up wind. I guy started at Rankines, but wasn't able to get upwind. So I went downwind and joined him, but then he left, so I slugged to rejoin Chris. Chris is in the background coming out of his top speed run and hitting 23.4 knots. His TS marker is also displayed.
Where those speed markers are seems to be a sweet spot. Don't know why. I was hitting my top speeds there when heading towards the cafe.
I'm still converting mine and Chris's data to a movie. I'm about 30% through it. When it's all finished, I'll post a small movie.
