Beachport October Long Weekend 2016

Saturday October 1 - M0nday October 3, 2016
(some of us will be down on the Friday 30th September)

It's almost time for the Beachport October Long Weekend event.

Last years event was a great success with some of the best wave sailing conditions I personally have seen over 4 days of sailing in the South East, fingers crossed for similar conditions,

More details to follow, but we are hoping to have a wave comp on one of the days at either Surfers Beach or Mowbrays up the coast at Beachport. The lake is also full, so we will gauge interest and look at having an event on the lake for the flat water sailors, or a slalom comp of some description,

Keep an eye on Seabreeze or the Windsurfing SA Faceebook page for more details closer to the date,

If you are looking to compete, please make sure you are a registered Windsurfing SA Member,

If you are coming down and are looking for shack accomodation, here's a good link to get you started, bythesea.com.au/

We hope to see you all there, I know there is already a good crew planning on the trip down, it's a highlight of the year in the windsurfing SA calendar

Here's what went down last year!

Dave its the worst time and conditions to have a speed event on the lake. January Feb is the time for Speed..a lot of the speed crew are already booked and going to Stansbury.
just put all your effort into the wave event where you'll get the best bang for ya buck.
Surf beach carpark is now bitumen you'll like that.

Going to try to get down this year... looks like there are two caravan parks: any preference based on past experience?

Ian,ive booked a cabin in the Southern ocean tourist park. Was very reasonable price and have a view looking out over the bay. Haven't stayed there before, but my surfing mate goes there most summers.

southern ocean is best. Dan and Heidi will look after you.
Ask for cabin 12 has a wicked view and they have just been renovated.
I've had a permanent van / cabin there for years.
just be aware that the front park cabins don't have ensuites so a walk is involved.

One week to go - lets pray that Huey comes to the party - looks like he's teasing us with the LR forecasts.
