Yep, it's on again at Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club this Wednesday. First Race at 6pm, beers no later than 7 pm. All welcome.

Another good turn-out last night with good racing in a tricky 5-15 knot gully wind. The key seemed to be to milk the gusts for as much speed as possible. Dave showed a clean pair of heels to everyone, followed by Richard, Mal, Bamba guy (sorry - need to learn your name!) and Nick. First sail in 7 years for Nick! Good to see you back on the water. Second place was gained by what can only be described as a generous interpretation of the "rules" for a beach finish. Some people are desperate :-)
Come presentation night, there will have to a special medal forged for Matt M, who has turned up for all the races but not finished one yet - injury, gear failure etc. This week - a phone call from the missus saying he was late for a dinner party! However, he did get a sail with Matt Jnr on board. Nice tandem work guys!
The SUP guys and girls had a good race with a grueling push back into the building wind from the last mark. Might be a good idea to split the start between SUP and Windsurfers? A bit tight on the line for some :-)
Thanks to bystander Alex who lent his RIB for the rescue of a beach ball in distress. 11ft long with 50 hp motor. It comes fitted with multiple hold ropes and footstraps - totally necessary as it HOWLS - 80 km/h or something.

It's turning into a good family scene, Dave. Lot's of kids running around on the beach. A few groms having a go on Dad's board etc. All good.
