It's on tomorrow folks. Casual racing and beers at Brighton and Seacliff Yacht club. Race starts at 6.00 pm. Looks like a SE again - classic racing conditions.
See you there! Cheers Richard
Here's a quick summary of Wednesday nights racing. Wind was maybe 10-15 k SW, and held on till sunset. 5 racers, Ron, Nick, Ivan, Richard and Rod on a menagerie of equipment. Rod had a SUP with a sail, so we set 2 figure 8's and a triangle. Ron and Nick were battling it out up the front, a couple of spills by Nick saw Ron take the lead over Nick and seal the win by a small margin. Rod I think got his 2 figure 8's done. Richard pipped Ivan at the last mark, but on the tight reach back to the line, Ivan's Prodigy and 8.5 sail fired up like an angry beast and stormed home for third. Richard battled hard to get the Kona One moving in 12 knots, but with a gravimetrically challenged pilot it was asking too much of the old girl.
Good close racing! Despite the variety of equipment, good clean mark roundings were the key as is often the case. And don't fall off!
Bring on Decembers challenge!
Richard, great write up as per usual .
